Tourists enjoy 9C weather on popular Phu Rua mountaintop

The temperature atop the Phu Rua mountain in Loei fell to 9 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning delighting numerous winter-clad tourists.

 

The Loei weather forecast office reported that the temperature at Phu Rua mountaintop in Phu Rua National Park in Phu Rua district was recorded at 9C.

 

The office said the temperature at the Phu Kraduen mountaintop was 12C and the Phu Luang wildlife sanctuary in Phu Rua district was 11C.

 

The office reported that the lowest temperature on the lowlands in Muang district was 18C, Wang Saphung district 17.8C, Tha Li distirct, 18C, Phu Kradueng district 14C, Na Haew district, 17C, Phu Rua district 14.5C, Phu Luang district 18C, Na Duang district 17C, Pha Khao district, 17.6C, Erawan district 18C Nong Hin district 19C, Chiang Khan district 20C and Pak Chom district 20C.

Yes, I too noticed it was 16C at 6:30 AM when I took my son to school in Udon. Except I was freezing!

I have twice experienced that temperature in Thailand.  The first time, after 30-60 minutes, I was shivering and my fingers had a blue tinge.  

The second time, I was also shivering.  

There is nothing enjoyable about experiencing hypothermia at all!
