Dog gets smashed by car,but nobody cares about the damage to the car

Featured Replies

I live in a small 100m or so residential townhouse strip opposite a beach side road.

A few years ago an old Thai lady was killed by a speeding car, and as a result "30" signs were installed about 80m or so either side of the houses, but to no avail.  I would say that every passing car totally ignores the signs and some even overtake at speeds of well over 100kph (and even faster at night when it's quiet).  I've spoken to the local police who say nothing more can be done. (Speed bumps have been dismissed since the police say they would damage the speeding cars..!!!!???)

Many of the houses "look after" dogs - many of them adopted "beach" dogs.  Last year a speeding motor cycle hit a dog and slid a 30-40m down the road.  The young Thai guy driving was unconscious for around 30 minutes until an ambulance arrived.  His girlfriend was mostly OK, with just some gravel rash on her hands and legs... Neither were wearing helmets.

Most of the stupid dogs have been weeded out over the years, but I have zero sympathy for any vehicles that do hit any younger ones.  I have no doubt that another pedestrian, will be killed again before anything else is done to control the traffic.

It's simple really ......................... you kick it and it's their dog.   You hit it with anything expensive and it belongs to no one.   Now, you know. Simples. ????
