Since that is a re-wireable Shuko plug your easiest course of action is to remove it and fit a local 3-pin plug.

Assuming of course, that the wiring in your house is earthed!

@pferdy62I know exactly what you mean. I use these on my own workshop and garden kit.

You CAN get the correct Schuko outlets and trailing sockets here. You may need to go to a specialist electrical retailer.

The correct outlet looks like this:-

OR

You could go with the industrial strength IEC 60309 "commando" plugs and outlets which may be more readily available. MegaHome have these in both 16A and 32A, with trailing or fixed outlets available.

I have to admit, when I first moved here I thought surely you could just buy a pin to install in that hole.

Now years have gone by and it's still not easy to find a decent U.S. style 3-prong plug to use as a replacement.

Of course, since it is worker safety that is in mind, having ground fault interrupters on those circuits should also be a priority.

I use Bticino/Legrand plugs in our packing shed. Top quality with robust clamp but not cheap and only available from electrical distributors.

in our factory and they need to be tough to withstand the abuse from our workers

When the plug breaks they just stick the bare wires into a socket and bang in a couple of nails to hold them in place  ????????

Just about every time we have work done invariably the wires are just stuck into the sockets. So bought 6 of the rubber caped plus as shown in the picture .  Every time some comes to work and just sticks the wires in the socket they get pulled out and I fit a new plug for them.

Everyone is happy.
