I’ve been browsing recently and came across information about the EEA Family Permit, specifically this website..

Not sure if it’s outdated or not, but it seems I meet all the requirements to take my Thai GF to the UK if I apply successfully.

 

Does anyone have any more information about this, or am I missing something? Seems a lot easier than obtaining a visa.

 

Quick brief of my situation: been with the gf just over 2 years, not married, have a British/Thai son with British/Thai passports, both live in Thailand but I’ve been back to the UK a few times, she’s never had a UK visa.

Providing you’re not a British Citizen and you also meet all the other requirements, then there’s nothing to stop you applying, under the direct route.

 

You could also apply under the “Surinder Singh” but that’s not that straightforward.

 

Obviously nobody knows if Brexit will change things.
