Ol big joke isn't a man of mystery, most members with a bit of common sense can see though this government puppet that has become some sort of idol for the public and to tell you the truth from some of the comments by tv members most of us are getting a bit sick of his mug popping up daily with some bs story of how he's saving Thailand.

"some of the comments by tv members most of us are getting a bit sick of his mug popping up daily with some bs story"

Can't help but agree.

As I said, he is achieving things.

Nobody said anything about his salvage skills or superpower, a weak attempt from your side after your negativity in your earlier post.

So what did he actually do? No you dont know but you've seen his photo on a boat at the scene.they could of sent the boss of TAT and achieved the same result.

He was in charge, and after months of amateur hour he lifted it in no time.

Sure, he loves photo ops, but he also achieves things.

Of course he does, considering the backing he's got. Probably with an unlimited budget to try and paint himself and his masters in a better light.

Need a heck of a lot of paint though.

And that's all he has to do, photo op's, to raise his media profile, get his name out there, get people talking about him, to set himself up for bigger and better things.  ????

There can only be one chief when a team is brought together. My guess is that Big Joke was the chief of the team, one person who calls the shots. He has a proven track record of getting things done.

Or, that cardboard cut-out of the PM?

(You can tell it's not real - the eyes look kinder.)

And you are personally affected by this in which way?

No effect on me whatsoever, at this stage.  Just making a comment on an internet forum, as you are.  Does my comment personally effect you?

Come the next election, we may see BJ make a move into politics.

Thailand to the world:

- Don't worry if your loved one perishes on a boat in Thailand, we will raise the wreck.

It may give the grieving relatives some comfort to know that the safety aspects (shortcomings) of the vessel will be examined and transgressors prosecuted.

It should also help to reassure future visitors that safety procedures will not be ignored in the same way again.

Under normal circumstances there's no way a relatively modern vessel of this design should have sunk in a squall. It's not an old wooden ferry in Malawi with hundreds of people hanging off it

"Wasn't it simply greed that sunk this boat by overloading it, going out against weather warnings, failing to follow basic steps of marine safety?"

No, no and no.

You appear to be very knowledgeable in this area stevenl, and I certainly am not (nor are many others by the look of their posts), so would you please give a more in-depth reason(s) why this boat sunk, as I thought that the post by neeray was pretty close to the mark.

Why would raising a wreck that killed so many loved ones  restore  confidence?  <deleted>

Agreed !

I think this statement is a serious case of wishful thinking.

Only actions going forward "may" help to restore confidence.

Frankly, looking at pictures of the raised wreck is probably reliving hell for the families of the deceased. It is a pretty sad looking picture.
