Wish to access Auto-Electrician / Mechanic from "New" Battery Supplies Retail & Services Business to ensure that 2 Vehicles work with Batteries they sell to me

Thus,- I need them to :

1_

deliver the correct Batteries

.........................................................................................................................

Note a_

I wish to install the Batteries by myself

.........................................................................................................................

2_

take readings from On-board Computer Diagnosis system of each vehicle

3_

interpret the Faults & / or Warnings that may offer up

4_

trouble-shoot any relatively easy problems that may offer up

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Vehicle A_

Ford Ranger XLT, Diesel 2.5 litre Turbo, Transmission ; Manual, 4-Door, Year of Manuf. ; 1999, Place of Manuf. ; Thailand ; Mileage ; 170,000 km approx

This Ford Ranger is a Ford re-badged Mazda B Series

Vehicle B_

Mazda Tribute, Benzene 3 litre, Transmission ; Auto, 4-Door, Year of Manuf. ; 2003, Place of Manuf. ; Thailand ; Mileage ; 165,000 km approx

The Mazda Tribute is based on the Ford Escape

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Presently,- both vehicles are thus :

X_

not able to start because left idle for too long ;

And, Steering Wheel will not turn whatsoever

And, Key will not turn in Ignition

Y_

Batteries have been removed

Battery of Ford Ranger was unsatisfactorily "charged" [ ? ] by well-intentioned Tyre Depot of well-known chain ;

Unsatisfactorily at least in that it was topped up with water in excess of its max. limit [ indeed to brim of filling ports ].

Upon noticing this just ahead of inserting battery into engine compartment,- I poured out from the ports simultaneously the electrolyte until it within the limit marks.

Note b_

And, Ford Ranger Ignition-Turning + Steering Problem not solved upon trying with the battery re-attached after reducing the electrolyte level to within limit marks.

Note c_

I have not even tried to charge the battery for the Mazda

Note d_

I have been bereft of any funds to spend attending to my vehicle problems until now ;

Not that I am flush with funds presently ;

But, I have enough to buy 2 batteries at least [   I hope 8-)   ]

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Here is hoping that knowledgeable posters here will recommend :

x_

a "Good + Cheap [ Fair ]" Auto-Electrician or Mechanic to solve my situations

y_

a "Good + Cheap" Scanner for I to buy so as to use on both the Ford Ranger XLT [ 19 years old ], & the Mazda Tribute [ 15 years old ]

Perhaps :

This is all you need:

https://www.banggood.com/HHOBD-ELM327-Car-Bluetooth-OBD2-Auto-CAN-BUS-Scanner-Tool-Android-p-913030.html

https://torque-bhp.com/

5 USD for the hardware

0 - 5USD for the software

I tested it with my motorcycle and it works fine.

Thanks One More Falang,

I don't know and I doubt they have it. But I am not sure.

If they have it they must have a connector for it.

The picture below is from my bike, a KTM. The connector

can look completely different. It must have at lest 4 wires but maybe more.

As I said - Not OBD 2

What is not OBD 2?

What is Torque?
Torque is an OBD2 performance and diagnostic tool

Might help to read your own link ...

most Petrol vehicles built after 1996 support OBD2 and most Diesels after 2004 due to emissions requirements in the U.S.

This is not the US

Diagnostic tools are available, but not OBD 2 for 19 and 15 year old ones sold in LOS

Sorry I didn't check in detail what was and what was not available in the LOS x years ago.

And thanks for telling me Thailand is not the US. It seems I was confused about that one. Must be my age.

Maybe you should add your detailed knowledge to the Wikipedia article.

Methinks that a separate thread should be created, or added to, with the following links -- as examples -- on the mention above of OBD Scanning System equivalent for motorcycles :

I think that it fair to presume now that Honda Wave, & Honda Click, & Honda Zoomer X have no OBD System equivalent ;

At least not available to non-Honda approved garages, nor mere owners.

i.e.

I guess that they do have OBD System equivalent for these models solely for Honda approved garages.

At least if the model uses Fuel Injection ;

Honda Click, & Honda Zoomer X use Fuel Injection ;

I not sure if certain Honda Wave models use Fuel Injection.

My PCX and CRF manual has detailed PGM-FI troubleshooting info in the relevant section. Tells how to ID the trouble code, repair it, and clear the MIL light.

Any modern bike with FI, in the Service Manual, will have such a section.

Personally I like he TV forums for the local information.

Thinks like OBD are international and there are lots of websites dedicated to that, sometimes specialized on specific brands and/or car and bike models. Why add another single page here if there are other and better resources out there?

I.e. I made this OBD Bluetooth adapter for my KTM after checking a few specialized websites. I don't think anybody would search for something like that here on TV, it's better posted on specialized forums.

I understand, & accept ur argument that ThaiVisa.com motor forum should concern itself with local particulars.

And, in support of it, there is ironically indeed a case for an ongoing sub-forum even for OBD Info. & Service Manuals & Workshop Manuals etc [ in Thai & English ] for the vehicle models "sold in Thailand" [ not specifically "made / assembled in Thailand" ] ;

Pursuing the OBD topic following links -- especially the wikipedia.org one -- kindly provided by u no less,- I learn that OBD info. is specified according to the market in which the vehicle was was officially sold.

And continuing, & it not the lessor support,- yee folk on this motor forum are in the main notably knowledgeable, & kind-hearted ;

So,- I  am often inclined to immediately ponder ;

"What would the posters on Thaivisa.com say about ...."

By the way, One More Falang,- I had a brief look at some new KTM motorcycles for sale on Rama 4, Bangkok ;

They appear to be excellent IMHO.

Congratulations.
