As a committed Brexiteer I take no notice of these ongoing and nonsensical threats from the establishment. Project Fear was a disaster and did not work, time to drop the negativity. To have our countr

The economic cost of the Brexit decision that Leaver voters do not get to see

If one takes into account the loss of purchasing power of the British pound in the international currency comparison,
one can easily hang a zero at the end of the 18 billion.
And for all retirees and vacationers who are in Thailand and whose income is in British Pound:
Today, the cash rate for one pound at Bangkok Bank: GBP 39.40 and the TT under 40. (39.95000).
But what the Brexiteers probably comforted, the euro has got also a hit today.

Brexit as a loser / loser situation.
All international competitors benefit from Brexit, just not the UK and the EU.
Dumb as bread the whole.

Problem is, most people look on brexit as us vs them and think if we lose something they must be gaining something.

But it's not like that. read this thread.

Something funny.

For the British, Brexit could become a disaster without an agreement. But the fear concerns in the case above all the offspring. The reason: Without regulation, the donations of the sperm bank remain in the freezer. As the British Government reports, sperm banks are required to negotiate "new written agreements with relevant EU bodies".

Sperm donations in the UK have declined. In 2005, a law came into force, which has the consequence that donors are no longer entitled to anonymity. The government reports that about 3,000 sperm samples have been imported from Denmark and 4,000 from the US.

And also for the British sandwich it does not look good.

Four billion sandwiches are bought annually in British supermarkets. This could be over soon. But that's not bread, but customs. Because there the agricultural products are passed through. Another consequence is tougher controls in the ports. According to Jim Winship of the British Sandwich Association, says, "I do not think consumers know how complex and global our industry is, and if we leave Europe with a bang, we would have problems.

This would be enough border controls, because our industry works with fresh products that do not last long. The ingredients could rot in the docks before they come to us. "Most of the sandwiches are sourced from overseas, with 82 percent of Cheddar imported from the EU, as well as tomatoes at 80 percent and salad at 93 percent.

That is clear. The EU has never forbidden the UK to grow its own salad and tomatoes. I'm looking forward to what wage costs that happens and how efficient that is. Wants to bet that this will probably lead to price increases for end users. Good luck for the British brexit tomato.

I'm not sure I can cope anymore. What with having to replace chicken with grey squirrel in my sandwich and a sperm bank problem......what am I going to do on Wednesday afternoons now.

Never mind the good news is Mark Carney has finally seen sense.

Mark Carney drops Project Fear as he talks up free trade potential of Brexit

Mr Carney's speech at the Financial Times contrasts starkly with the "doomsday" analysis set out by the Bank three months ago, which warned of a worst-case scenario of a no-deal Brexit tipping the UK into a deep recession, wiping one-third off house prices and sending inflation, interest rates and employment through the roof.

Some Remainers and all Leavers have the same problem with the Monster of Berlaymont.

Martin Selmayr's promotion broke 'letter and spirit' of EU law, Brussels watchdog finds

“My brutality is much exaggerated.” (Liberation.fr)

It's quite astounding isn't it with a talent pool of 600 million you would expect the EU to choose to be led by a great Statesman; like Churchill, Kissinger, luther King or JFK and who do they come up with.  Jean Claude Drunker, a boorish political bagman who disgraces himself regularly and Martin Selmayer who was appointed by an open and democratic process involving one man, one vote. Jean Claude Juncker was the one man. You have to laugh when Macron and other EU leaders call for the President of Venezuela to stand down because he has subverted democracy and the rule of law.

Things will get interesting when Selmayer has the power of a European army under his Hugo Boss greatcoat and shiny leather belt.

OK. You do the analysis and I'll cook the chips.

No fascist content in this speech - neo or otherwise - remainers rarely read past the headlines.

I think that several of the points made in that speech would go down well in Westminster.

I'd like to see all the Brexit related threads converge into one simply called "Brexit". I'm almost lost in the complexity of it all.

Wow!  It sounds as if in the event of a genuine brexit the food shortages and will be even worse than that experienced during WW2!

Perhaps rationing will appear on the scene again?? ????

Not bad for a Neo-Nazi!

joking apart,I can agree with much that she is saying but it won't sit well with Brexiters. She advocates freedom of movement for self employed but not benefits for example.

Sub titles bot bad but not 100% IMO

IIRC, prices rose after we joined the EEC - thanks to EEC and CAP policy?

Then you clearly don't fully comprehend how TVF works (or the EU for that matter). Owls see very well but their cognitive abilities are very limited!
