Another entertaining game but not one to get carried away.Take out Pogbas's 2 goal contribution and MOM award it would have been a struggle to be honest despite the number of shots on goal and possession. Add Captain De Gea's wonder save and Hudderfields lack of finishing. Huddersfield are pretty resolute and well coached.

Ole was spot with his substitutes Fred after an enterprising start seemed to be spent and Dalot too was starting to make mistakes.Little wonder with the lack of game time they have both had. Herrera and Young settled things down to what if you just read the result looked an easy victory.Rashford worked his socks off but was astray with his attempts on goal

United have some luck with the draw 2 games at home over the festive season and Reading at home for the FA Cup, every little bit helps.

Still no news on the clubs web site or confirmation of Sanchez's return and the disappearance of Lukaku maybe he's at Weight Watchers

Ole said that Lukaku, Alexis and Martial should be back in contention soon. But Alexis might be the game after next.

You can see Fred isn't quiet ready yet for the first team. I would give Periera a chance. He can only get better

I think Fred will be ok long term, certainly enthusiastic and played some nice balls FORWARD in the first 30 mins .If Mourinho was still there I doubt he would have got many minutes.

Periera highlights the problem of young players, maybe not quite good enough for the first team but a player with so much potential and you dont get better sitting in the stands. No doubt he wil play in the FA cup but he needs more. To let him go out on loan is dangerous if United get injuries in midfield the bane of todays football

Yes saw that but all very vague. We know Martial was ill and Sanchez recovering from hamstring problem but Lukakau still no explanation only speculation.

When they do come back - particularly Alexis and Lukaku - at least it looks as if they will have to compete for their places with some in form players. Before we were stuck in the vicious cycle of dropping players and reintroducing them when other players weren't performing. No good for anybody.

How's Ole at walking on water? Pretty useful im guessing by the comments you lot have been posting of late. Long way to go boys before youre back to the ManU of yesteryear.

PS. Rick, really enjoyed that documentary on ManU on tv recently; especially enjoyed Tommy Doc on it. Well worth a watch for anyone interested in Football but especially for those of us who enjoyed the real thing back in the early 70s.

Halfway through watching it the video got taken down. BT had claimed copyright infringement ????

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can equal incredible Manchester United club record this weekend

Man Utd caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could equal an impressive piece of club history this weekend in the fixture against Bournemouth.

With two wins from his first two matches in charge of the first-team, Solskjaer could become only the third United manager to win their first three league games in charge of the club.

United can hold Eder Militao contract talks 'soon'

United have been handed a reported boost in any move for Eder Militao after Poto struggled to agree terms on a new deal.

Correio da Manha suggest Militao is “reluctant” to sign a new contract with Porto as the rumours of a move to United circulate.

transfer news, United are favourites with the bookmakers to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, as the Senegal international was priced at just 2/1 to join the club. If he was to join, reports say he would cost £90m.

Now this I would be excited about.... can't see it happening in January though. Breaking the bank for Maguire maybe more likely.

Sanchez, Martial and Lukaku have all undergone light training sessions and Solskjaer said Scott McTominay and Marcos Rojo would resume first-team training 'soon'. However, Chris Smalling is out until mid-January, at the earliest.

Whats your take on Zidane? Zidane as director of football?

Former United defender Silvestre posted the image from his holiday in Dubai on Instagram along with the caption: "Catching up with some friends and the one and only Zidane. Best 2018 manager?"

Coincidence or what dont forget Silvestre still does a bit MU as an ambassador and played along side him in French national team

You forgot to add he was Ole's right hand man at Cardiff and Molde and was on United's coaching staff before and was one of the ones Moyes shifted when he decided to strip the backbone out of the club.

Yep you're right

Dempsey left United in 2009 after more than 15 years with the club in order to take up another youth development coaching role with Norwegian outfit Tromso before linking up with Solskjaer at Molde a year later.

if he's going to splash out on a center back why not splash out on a really good one, who's technically gifted which of course Maguire is not.  A younger Toby perhaps, a Varane,  or someone anything near as good as VVD would suffice.  Cant see Maguire making much of an impression.  All huff and puff with little technical ability.

Me too, ok he had a fairly good WC then people were saying buy him, but last season Leicester had one of the worst defensive records in the PL, leave him out

We are desperate for 2 centre backs. We haven't got one centre back who is fit to pull a United shirt on. Smalling is the best of a bad bunch but even he was only seen as a squad player previously.

Maguire, although he looked vanilla on Boxing day, would fit the bill if playing alongside a truly world class defender a la Vidic. Not many of them about. Should have gone for Virgil Van Dijk when we had the chance.

Don't see any real deficiencies anywhere else on the field. IMHO Young and Shaw are potentially the best wing back pairing in the league.

RoShaun Williams watch out for young lad, and DJ Buffonge trained with the first team

Agree that they've both got potential and I'm all for giving the youngsters a chance, however, centre back requires a degree of experience and maturity. Both these 2 are under 21. Minimum age I would consider a centre back for a regular 1st team place is 23.

Van Dijk is 27 and has only really looked world class over the last year or 2.

Is that the Leicester that just beat Chelsea and City in their last 2 games, one of which Maguire was MOM in?

I am not saying he is an essential signing, but it's not always wise to disregard someone at a smaller club because of said club's collective results.

Maybe he is not on the radar now anyway... he could have been a Mourinho target which the current powers that be don't fancy.
