When Do The Thai Banks Set The ATM Exchange Rate For The Day?
Where did you check it at 9am? The exchange rate is set by the payment processor - usually Visa or Mastercard - and not by the ATM operator, unless you opt for DCC as mentioned. It'll be slightly below the rate you see on XE or Wise, for example, as Visa/Mastercard take their cut. -

Sticky situation re co-dependency
In any parasitic relationship, especially if you worry about physical harm to yourself from a younger, stronger partner, I'd agree with BritManToo. Disappear, relocate, and never get back in touch. There are probably another hundred million or so gay men out there who would like a partner who wishes to have a healthy relationship. Just like those of us who get tangled in a unhealthy relationship with gals. Bail - don't look back. You owe your parasitic partner nothing. Spring-Fall relationships CAN work but both sides need to want it and to work for the relationship for the benefit of both partners. Look at Glenn Greenwald and his husband David Miranda. It can work. Best of luck! -

British Man Injured in Pattaya Road Rage Incident with Thai Driver
Valid point - more 'Westerners' have had strong driver training and had to follow strict regulations for the majority of their lives... When they break the rules here, they are well aware of what they are doing. But, I also think Thai's are well aware of the rules and know exactly what rules they are breaking. Both parties, Thai and Westerner, when breaking road rules here (no helmets, jumping lights etc) are well aware of their driving / riding standards. Perhaps, Westerners are more alert to the consequences, and thats why better may be expected of them. -

Is Bitcoin going to zero?
You start with "because" as if you are providing an answer, but actually you missed completely the question, which started with "if you like having more money ". Of course precious metals, gold in primis, are stable and the correct solution for a doomsday scenario. But after ten years (say) of owning gold, you are left with more or less what you started with - when you factor in inflation. So solid, stable, but not an answer to "having more money". -

Scottish Man Extradited from Thailand Jailed for Sexually Abusing Young Girls
These articles are full of hyperbole and thin on facts. I'm curious about the ages of the victims, circumstances under which the acts were carried out, and why it took decades for the victims to come forward when it would have been possible to get to the bottom of things if they'd been reported when they occurred. Why do people wait decades to come forward when it's impossible to verify the allegations? -

Nuclear Warming?: Is this the fourth horseman of the apocalypse?
Let's be clear what is meant by this wonderful phrase: The White Man's Burden. This is a phrase which is extremely popular in places like Singapore.
