USA plug adapter

Featured Replies

I need an adapter to make a USA plug fit into a Thai socket.

I don't need to change the voltage,  as the power supply is 110-220v 50-60h.

Does anyone have a link to something reasonably priced and hopefully not massive in size (as it needs to be plugged into a socket in the ceiling).

Even if it is technically possible, I cannot chop off the US plug and replace it with a Thai plug as the US plug is part of a moulded transformer (lower plug in this picture).

All help gratefully appreciated!

What kind of an outlet do you have that does not accept a US plug?  US plugs are often used here and have not seen wall outlets that did not accept them.  The only real Thai plug is the new type O 3 round pin type - but have never seen an outlet that only allowed that plug here.  Below is the normal wall outlet and they accept USA plugs.

Would be my question too.

Only scenario: the US transformer has round pins and the wall socket is an old fashioned type that only allows flat pin.

In either case: all kind of adapters for such low power stuff are available at hardware stores/departments. 10, 15, 20 Baht or so.

Oh great stuff! I didn't realise a US plug fitted into a Thai socket.

For once my life is going to be easy, as the transformer has flat pins and not round pins.

Thank you for helping me out.
