Hot : NACC finds Prawit innocent in relation to luxury watches

Featured Replies

No surprise at all - decisions like this separate a banana republic from a civilized nation adhering to the rule of law.
I suggest to hold a yearly award ceremony selecting the most corrupt in a fun show for all to watch! A packed venue with thousands of corrupt from every government agency and the private sector. Millions of lesser corrupt who did not make it into the finals cheering their favorite corrupt on live tv - and for a special twist this year includes the “anti corruption commission”!!!
Never a shortage of nominees - awarded not with oscars - but bananas!
And the banana goes to .....the best thing is the winners can not even loose face - they never had any to begin with.
Fatty can wear his borrowed watches without embarrassing himself and gets a life time achievement banana! And when the ceremony is over the guest of honor- the PM can through his banana - which he is awarded automatically because of his position - at the attending journalists !!!

  • What a relief, so glad to learn that he really is an honest man.   ????   Never doubted him for one minute.

  • More evidence, if any were needed, that Thai Justice is an oxymoron up there with Army Intelligence and RTP's 'Serve and Protect'.

  • Can only hope that once this "government" meets its doom, these people, including Nacc, are all locked up, treasonous mob of so and sos.

This is just as most of us here predicted months back. But the sheer in-your-face arrogance and chutzpah of the whole thing beggars belief: a 'regime' that grabbed power to 'end corruption' pulls this stunt. This is the outcome of (allegedly) months of arduous, painstaking investigation: the man in question is declared completely innocent and blameless, with not a spot on his character. No detailed report needed or published. No probing questions allowed from journalists.

Case closed.

In some countries and cultures, with a backbone and guts, however, this would be 'case opened' - this would be the spark that ignited the whole powder-keg of furious, nation-wide resistance. But not with the Thais.

'Mai ben rai. Oh look - there comes a man from the Government - come on, graap, graap, grovel, grovel - that's it - show that you are a good Thai - go on, bow down lower and lower, and raise your clasped hands higher and higher above your head to the honourable gentleman - he is a "puu-yai", after all -  a grown-up - not a child like us .....'

Pathetic - right across the board, from top to bottom, left to right, diagonal, and every which-way. Pathetic. What a nation!

At a minimum all of the serial numbers of the watches should have been published along with verification of ownership statements issued by the manufacturers of the watches.  But instead the NCAA simply waves their collective hands and *Presto* the whole thing disappears - no details needed.  So essentially the corruption police can't (won't) police themselves.  No surprises here at all - This Is Thailand!  TIT.  The rich and connected ride rough-shod over the law because - 'Laws are for the 'little people' and not those at the top.'

Suuuuuuuurpriiiiiiiiiiise!

:clap2:

I’m glad they cleared up that little misunderstanding. The Thai people can truly have faith in their leaders.

Well you got to hand it to Ole Fatty and cronies, in other countries there are comedies/ comedians to entertain the public, here the clowns are in government.

Anybody in need of a dose of laughter, just tune in to the goings on at government house, priceless comedy.

Not just Thailand - look at the US, an even bigger clown in charge

What a relief!........in other  news

Thailand announces  worlds  biggest carpet, becomes hub of carpets............

I echo the many comments here about this being a farce. We all predicted this result and as such demonstrates what I have said and continue to say that the junta will do what it wants, when and how it likes and there is no to stop them. Well, I mean...that's Junta is all about...fill their own pockets and s*d the rest.

He was elected and it will up to the people to dislodge that clown. The clown here seized power and wrote laws to steal the next election. He gets the bigger clown award. ????

Public scrutiny intensified because Prawit is part of the coup-installed regime that had pledged to combat corruption.

Yes, and not surprisingly, given Prawit's form and his 'spend-now-pay-later' approach to Junta military procurement, this finding by the much discredited NACC only serves to drag the entire NCPO deeper into the corruption mire. That it has taken the best part of a year for the NACC to come to the simple - but the world believes suspect - verdict that (A) the watches were borrowed from a friend who, it was said, died recently, and (B) the watches were still in this friend's house when the NACC went-a-calling, will be like adding yet another fuse to this time bomb of frustration and anger that must be growing within the Thai population. Rich or poor, there must be only so much that a Thai, with any degree of pride in his nation and heritage, can take - a groundswell of feeling that is made graphically clear by one of my recent reads, 'Thailand's Corruption Time Bomb', whose author, Huw Jones, paints a frighteningly clear picture as to how Thailand has risen to the top of the world's most corrupt countries chart.

If I was Prayuth, Porky - or the NACC for that matter - I'd be looking for ways to make the next two months as innocent-looking as possible for the NCPO, not the opposite, as this NACC verdict has served to do . . . and as its popularity as a posting topic makes only too clear.

The eight-member commission voted five to three that Prawit did not intend to conceal his assets, Worawit said.

Says it all.

Only 3 thought he was bent.

With such impeccable integrity he will surely qualify for "Person of the Year"! Maybe he will enter the monkhood to endorse that integrity.

Doesn't say much for bar-girls.

Dear God I am ruined, ruined! I am bankrupt, I have lost everything I own. I put a bet on with Paddy Power that he would be found GUILTY! It was a no brainer, a dead ringer - Who would have ever expected an outcome like this?

Plenty of clowns in other governments. Today the clowns in the UK have protested about likening MPs to clowns as it gives the clowns a bad name ????

To combat corruption in this country, esp amongst the "elite" would mean re-coding their DNA because that's how deep rooted it is.

Another problem is that they have no sense of shame in telling bare-faced lies..............keep the masses poorly educated and they will believe and follow!!

It really is a crock...........

A shame for this country.

A shame for this government

so disappointing

There is no way to make these morons guilty in this country except vigilantes because they are the laws of this land!

This is Thailand.. did we really expect a different outcome?

Recent findings have proven Thailand to be about as corrupt as any nation can get.... money is the driving force and some will do anything for personal wealth.

It's just that some are so far above the law they can do just about what they like with immunity.
