Road closures for 2019 Countdown

PATTAYA:--Roads surrounding Bali Hai – Walking Street, the Bali Hai flyover and the section of Pratamnak Road leading to the flyover – will be closed from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Dec. 30-31.

 

Expect heavy traffic on all other roads thru Jan 3 and perhaps later. Drive safely, the life you save may be your own.

So the only way to get there is perhaps walking over the flyover, or through walking street? Suppose I prefer the flyover as walking street will be completely packed of course.

It is such a different place, when beach rd/freeway is closed ..peaceful ,safe and quite ...remove the traffic ,and its a game changer, especially when most of the vehicles and buses are just speeding , worn out old relics spewing out emissions...

Walking Street might be more entertaining. Walk 20-30 yards (or lift up your feet and be carried by the crowd), side trip to Go-Go bar for a drink, repeat several times and arrive at 11.45 pm. Do the same on the way back!
