best way to go Pattaya from Don Muang airport ?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I will arrive at Don Muang airport, could you tell what is the best way to go to Pattaya please ?

Cheers

The Bangkok Morchit bus terminal is not too far from Don Mueang (about 13 km).

And from Morchit there is a bus to Pattaya (about every half hour?).

I hope someone can help with the details how to best get from Don Mueang to Morchit?

Taxi or motorbike taxi. Latter is cheaper and faster but will struggle with large pieces of luggage.

I read about a "A1" shuttle bus from Don Mueang to Morchit?

I just print off fake flight details for Swampy for later the same day and get the free shuttle to swampy and get the bus to Jomtien as its best for me

There is an unofficial minibus sevice from DM to Survanabhumi airport for 50b and can be found if you walk through the terminal to the car park. The minibuses leave when full and are refered to by people who work at the airport as the 555 service. From there catch one of the Pattaya/Jomtien buses.

There are minibus from DM to Pattaya too, I know at least one from Pattaya, it leaves from Central road, next to 7-11 between Foodland/Harbor mall and Powerbuy

At DM, there is no official minibus stand, you have to catch it outside on the road, takes some asking around about which ones comes to Pattaya

And now that the minibus are being phased from 11seat vans to 20 seats proper minibus, it's not that cramped and there's room for luggage.

Hmmmmm. Having said that, the A1 stops at Morchit BTS and the bus station is the other side of Chatchuchak Park, so a taxi from DMK to Morchit bus station may be the best way to go.

I usually prebook my taxis from DMK to Pattaya.  Not cheap but it's a lot faster.

I remember waiting for around 1 hour once for a taxi from DMK to Bangkok.  There was a taxi lineup which literally extended in to the main terminal from the taxi wait area.  Was that a one-off or is it always like that waiting for a regular taxi at DMK?

Over the years I was forced to use DMK only once and then I didn't have a long taxi queue.

But seems that was "luck" due to off season/time of day.

There are some terrible reports about endless wait for taxi at DMK.
