Transfer for extension

Featured Replies

I intend to use TransferWise to transfer 800k baht from the UK to my Thai Bangkok Bank account for the purpose of extending my O-A Visa. Does anyone know if using TransferWise to a Bangkok Bank account satisfies Immigration that the funds have come from overseas ?. Or should I use another method ?......

If you already have a non immigrant visa entry you do not need to prove the funds came from abroad if using the 800k baht in the bank option to apply for an extension of stay based upon retirement.

I will have obtained the O-A from the RTE in London. So when the time comes to apply for an extension based on retirement as long as I can show that I have 800k in my Thai account for 2 or 3 months (can’t remember which it is), then I don’t need to show where it has come from. Am I correct in my understanding ?.

Yes you are correct. The money has to be in the bank for 60 days when you do the first extension application.
