Do you really need a doctor. I had this problem a few months ago and there are plenty of self help videos on the web. Maybe try those first, mine is nearly better now.

Yeah, it's been about three months and I've tried a number of remedies including stretching, a night splint, and special insoles.

I used to do a lot of long distance walking and I got what the doctor called policemans heel, he recommended a cortison injection and the condition went nearly overnight, about 25 years ago.

I went to the Dr years ago with pain in my heal when walking, he got a razor blade out the drawer and started shaving the skin away. Completely cured it.

Go for a pedicure, see if it helps

Any specific recommendations for an orthopedic doctor foot specialist for treatment of plantar fasciitis in Bangkok?

Dr. Bavornrit at Bumrungrud seems to know what he's doing. My problem was one of the knee, not plantar fascitis, but he had me sorted out pretty quickly. Definitely recommended.

Dr. Bavornrit is indeed best foot/ankle sopecvialist. Besides Bumrungrad he can also be seen at Siriraj and at Phyathai 3 Hospital

Main reason to see a doctor is to rule out cause other than, or in addition to,  plantar fascitiis (bone spur etc). If it is just PF, treatment is:

- exercises to stretch the achilles tendon (many on you tube)

- orthotics; simple arch support is often all it takes. if you go barefoot indoors, buy an elastic sleeve that picks up your arch.  Wear only shoes with arch support -brands of  flip flops with arch support include Dr Scholl and Vionic.. latter can be bought online. For closed shoes, you can but inserts with arch support.

-night splint if you can tolerate it, helps a lot (can buy online)

-NSAIDs if you have no contraindication and can tolerate them

It is not unusual for it to take a full year for PF to resolve once it has set in.

For me, the key to both resolving it and preventing recurrence has been arch support. Some other people have found the stretches to be most important.
