I hear you have to keep 800,000 baht in a Thai bank for 5 months now and 400,000 baht year round.

But I hear Thai banks are totally unsafe. Should I give my 400,000 baht in cash to my Thai girlfriend for the other seven months? I tried to use Transferwise but it is too hard to do.

 

I am not sure what else to do with it. I am saving up to buy a house with my girlfriend. She loves me. Her name is Boom. She's great. But I do feel weird about the age difference walking around the mall. So I just walk closer to her grandmother. I am sure the house we are buying will go up in value. I wanted to buy a condo but Boom talked me out of it. She said a house is less paper work. I think she is right.

 

But none of that will matter once I start my 100% organic rice farming business. I always wanted to be a farmer. I hear people in the country love Farangs and are not too judgemental. I am sure I will be loved. I have a lot of knowledge from my superior culture to share with my soon to be new neighbors. But Boom wants me to open a bar. She says she knows that business from watching Youtube. I will not need to work or be there at all. It is all cash so no tax problems.

 

Her brother hangs around the studio apartment we rent. Boom has a two year old boy that looks just like her and her brother. The family resemblance is amazing.  Boom says he can help around the bar. Her uncle is a police Captain so I feel safe. He wears a polo shirt that says Glock on it. He drinks a lot but he is cool.

 

Boom keeps saying scooters are dangerous and she need a car. But I am not sure a 18 year old in Thailand is ready for a car. Its really hard to know what to do. I am still upset about her losing the  two iPhones I gave her. But I can't stay mad at her for long. She is so cute. I remember the first time I saw her standing on Sukhumvit in front of the Sofitel. I think she was waiting for a ride. She walked right up to me and said I was very handsome and wanted to go with me for a longtime. It was love at first sight for both of us.

 

Sorry a lot of this has nothing to do with the bank thing, but I stopped my health insurance payments to start making the car payments. Boom said Farangs can't own cars and her friends said the same thing so I will put it in her name. Sorry this is a really long way to get ideas of what to do with the money.

I'm not taking your post seriously but as for Thai banks have kept large sums of bahts all year round for marriage extensions the A/C has never been a problem.

I was looking for a place to park near the Sofitel and she came over and introduced herself and her sister, i was amazed that sisters had the same first name !!

Anyway the traffic started to move and i had to drive on so didn’t get chance to chat more.

OP, its perfectly ok to keep the 800/400 as gold, its acceptable to immigration. My GF Bam has even offered to wear it for safety.
