I think you'll find that he came from a reasonably wealthy family, who were the owners of the 1.2 million pound farmhouse, they also sent him to private boarding school as a child. So, it seems the guy was overcome by mental issues. He had a number of failed businesses in Thailand and the UK. He is now in a secure mental institution. However, he did in fact sponge off his parents regularly, he moved his wife and kids in with them, and felt entitled. He got them to re-mortgage their house to give him 240K to resolve visa issues for his wife. Return flight more than 60 days after departure
You certainly can buy refundable tickets. That's my normal strategy to get an onward ticket. I buy and refund 5 -10 tickets every year and never pay anything for it. Most here don't like that stragey and prefer to pay for a fake ticket instead. I still don't understand why. -

Creating a Savings Portfolio for Thai Wife
I have been living for nearly 20 years with a charming Thai woman. As I'm getting older (we all do!), I'm gradually getting concerned about the possibility that one day I will be gone, leaving her alone. She is 20 years younger than me, so that is quite a likely situation to happen some time in the future. I would like to find a way to put money away for her to secure her standards of living from that point in time onwards. Something like an in an investment or savings portfolio, say sthg in the order of 1-2 million THB, that she would know of but could only touch once I have disappeared. Why am I asking? Because, as sweet and lovely she is, I still cannot trust her entirely. I would not want to give her the opportunity to cash out while I'm still alive, me not knowing, and who knows what she would do with the money, what sort of silly "project" she would use the money for, "project" that would miserably fail? Most people on this forum know the Thais sufficiently to understand what I'm talking about. I'm aware that I could shop around the banks in Thailand and ask. However, if anyone in this forum could give me some appropriate advise, that would save me time and I would much appreciate it. By "appropriate advise", I mean that please, abstain from unnecessary comments on my personal relationship with my wife. That's not what I need! -

That he graduated from Wharton is the only facts from your original post. That means nothing. Wharton is a top school but Trump wasn't a stellar student. He wouldn't even have gotten in if his father wasn't friends with the faculty and paid to buy his way in. He graduated at the bottom of his class with GPA and had to seal his records to not let anyone see. Everything else was opinion and inaccurate as far as past presidents being from humble beginnings. Forbes doesn't fact check and took his word for worth. it's known he lied about his networth, hence the lawsuit on fraud which he lost in New York. Try again with real info not made up bs or twisted misleading bs -

Should I buy a condo or rent?
Mate I don't need bargirls like you, cause I have a gorgeous wife, as I said on the beach side in huahin condos to rent at 28k, not that I would pay that, as I have my own condo,and if you did some research you would find after 5 years owner ship ther is no capital gains tax payable, but cannot argue with fools as its a no win situation..
