Tesco Lotus has (not always) Tesco brand dark chocolate, which I like too much. To me it tastes like Cadbury's Bournville.   Big C has (not always) the Casino brand chocolate from France. I

Current sale price at misc. shops.

Wish it would continue.

Built a small stock (not good for me to have too much in sight).

Never seen these two products in either a Tesco or Big C.  And I have been here for decades and always go on the shopping trips.  Where are you located?

I'm in Bang Saray, so I shop at Sattahip or Pattaya.

As I said, these brands are not always available, so (like many foreign goodies) it's wise to stock up when you find them.

Another good place for decent chocolate at a reasonable price is IKEA (no assembly required ????), but it's a 4 hour+ round trip for me (not saying I haven't been tempted).

PS - I just saw that IKEA chocolate is available on "shopee" at 49B per 100g. I've never used "shoppee" so I don't know how that works - postage fees etc. https://shopee.co.th/Chocolate-IKEA-(dark)-i.1613980.67145307

to add PS

^ Been looking around Shoppee a bit more...

3x100g bars of IKEA dark, milk, or hazelnut at 100 Baht. IIRC that is the same price as in the store.

I just need to learn how to read Thai and I will place an order.

One type of the two types they're selling has an expiration date in the first week of March. The other has an expiration date into May....  It looks like an Ikea products reseller is looking to move their shelf product before it expires.

I didn't notice that. Yes, it could explain the price.

But it wouldn't put me off. I can't imagine that out-of-date chocolate would be harmful.

Beleive it or not there is a an English conversion there but how to get it must be the most idiotic system ever applied to a website platform.
The Gf tried to set it up for me and it took 45 mins to work it out. First you need to register... And in thai before the English tab becomes visible.. Idiotic

Last year ( end of december ) in my Tesco lotus, they sold their Lindt black chocolate  38 bahts;

don't remember if it was a story of date expiration, but their taste was normal, I was not sick ????

next time, around december, have a look !

My Thai gf tells me she cannot find any Western dark chocolate in BKK. Western meaning imported from Australia, UK or elsewhere. Any suggestions where I can buy some will be appreciated.

This chocolate is manufactured in Chiang Mai. It is as good as any dark chocolate I’ve eaten including the bean-to-bar chocolate in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Just bought 20 bars of 85%/90% dark chocolate in the UK for £1.50 each.

Gourmet Market are currently offering a super deal on Lindt 90%, buy one, get one free.
They have a huge selection of chocolate, pop down there tomorrow and take a look.

I will hide them under the bottles of single malt.

In the unlikely event that customs wake up I will smile and plead ignorance.
