Girlfriends Interview

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

We have just Applied for the Visitors Visa for my Girlfriend (second Attempt) I made sure this time they had all possible documentation from myself. They rang her yesterday and asked her to go for an interveiw! on the 15th march.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? also any tips for her interveiw!

Thanks,

Phill

its normal to have some form of interview before visa is issued - whether its a short interview, 5 mins, or the dreaded 1 hour interview..

as long as your docs and supporting evidence are in order, everything adds up and you can prove that you have known eachother for longer than a 2 week holiday (you'd be suprised...!) - you/she should have nothing to fear.

good luck

It's good because she hasn't been refused.

Remember, the only thing they know about you and your girlfriend is what you have told them. Make sure your girlfriend knows what that was. They will want to confirm and satisfy themselves on some points you have made so provide you have told the truth and your girlfriend substantiates those stories then it should go OK. Think about what you have submitted and ask yourself what part of the application could be considered weak. It is unlikely the questions will be about your sponsorship.Good luck

Answer all the questions truthfully.

Do not try to hide anything.

Be confident; if she is telling only the truth there is no need to be nervous.

Its not NORMAL to have an interview before a visa is issued. Some go to interview, many thousands do not.

To the OP, as to if its a good or bad thing , well it would be wrong to say its good. What it means is there is either something about the application that the ECO wants clearing up or , given its a second attempt, they may just want to see how she performs face to face . Hopefully you have addressed all the points of refusal in the first application. Its absolutely crucial, as Mahout says , that she knows what has been written on the application form so run through all the likely questions and answers with her .
