Approved Visa Agents for UK visit visa

Featured Replies

Sometime ago I am sure I found a link to a list of Visa Agents (in Thailand) approved by the British Embassy.

Try as I might, including searching here, I'm now unable to find it.

Any ideas please?

The British Embassy don’t publish a list of approved agents, and of course they are not involved in the process.

There is no regulatory body for agents here in Thailand, I am aware of one who is registered with OISC in the UK which means he’s qualified to give advice in the UK, there’s no need to be registered here, though the fact he is indicates that he’s satisfied the UK regulatory body that he’s competent.

There are a number of rogue agents here who will talk a good job, but the Embassy certainly wouldn’t endorse any of them, that doesn’t mean they’re all rogues.

Do you really need an agent, unless the application is particularly complex using an agent isn’t always necessary.

Indeed, the British embassy have never had an 'approved list' of visa agents, nor have they ever recommended any particular agent.

As far as I am aware, neither have any other embassy.

Beware of any visa agent who claims the contrary; especially those who claim to belong to non existent organisations. They are lying about this, so what else are they lying about?

I think I know who you are referring to with the OISC registration ........ in Pattaya right?

I was 90% sure I had seen such a list somewhere, but unfortunately failed to bookmark it.

If it was an initial application I would not use an agent. Unfortunately, the otherwise very sensible gf, despite my protestations, enlisted a "helper" for the 1st application last year which was subsequently denied. The things they missed, including bank statements showing a lot more income than that stated, have now made it rather complicated.

7by7 I agree with you. I know to avoid those who advertise"Guaranteed visa" etc. and I have checked that the OISC registration theoldgit mentions is still current.

Thanks for your responses guys, appreciated.

Yes, he's in Pattaya and the only agent I would recommend, look out for the OISC logo.

As it happens I'm in Pattaya at the moment and am going to see him on Monday afternoon.

My only concern with using this agent is that it may be thought the lady has some Pattaya connection, she doesn't.
