I think that the visa extension of stay controversy comes about because the Thais have adopted visa and use it instead of permission to stay which would then need amplification by retirement, marriage, study etc.

Don't apologize. I think most of us knew what you meant.

Indeed. There's always a relatively new guy on this forum who thinks he's discovered an "ah ha" moment when visa terminology is misused. Too bad the rest of us have to suffer his posts, and the subsequent ones needed to put him in place.

"Casual conversation" leads to misunderstandings, confusion, and errors especially if that "conversation" is conducted in writing in a forum.

You Sir .....................must be the life a soul of any party, possibly, it is preferably, but only just to deal with you in writing

Why are people quoting posts that are well over 4 months old. Look at the date on them before quoting them.

Then why are they appearing on top of the list!!! You would assume its current

Immigration confuse the matter by putting a big Retirement stamp across the extension of stay stamp. I was guilty of calling it a retirement visa for some time as well.

I don't think so the first or 2nd posts bumping it up were not done early enough for the morning or afternoon newsletters done yesterday.
