The Election and Alcohol

Featured Replies

I can remember a few years ago when they had an Election the bars were shut the weekend before the main event that is  this weekend.  It was to cover Early Voting. I cant see the point of shutting the bars anyway but its the Thai-way. So does anyone know if its the same this time.

Just as a matter of interest some friends of mine were going to have a party on the Sunday of the election ( got the tables and chairs from the local temple for the garden) then the boys in brown turned up and said it wasn't allowed. Go figure.

Dry days on Saturday 16th 6PM till Sunday 17th 6PM for the early voting

Same the next week on actual election 23rd- 24th

Their logic was to cover vote buying using 'feast' or hosting big parties

I thought it was only the SALE of alcohol which was banned, not the consumption.

There seems to be a falang running for office around our neighborhood. Keep hearing a loudspeaker blaring out his name :

Percy........Percy ...........Percy.

Wife reckons it's Ber See ......but her pronunciation is off.

Surely you jest.

The loudspeaker is saying number 4, ber see as you put it is number 4.
