hi

got a question , my wife today as put in her settlement visa in bkk for her to come and join me here in the uk when she handed it over the lady at the visa aplication center asked her if her husband (me) had sent a letter to the embassy about this visa , she answered no

ive seached on here for weeks to make sure we got very thing correct before applying but never seen anything about sending a lettter to the embassy :o

ive sent a supporting letter to my wife with all the details of when to travel and acomadation ect

do i need to write a letter to the embassy ,am i too late ?

ps i have e-mailed the embassy this morning uk time asking them if they need a letter and to reply to me asap but nothing so far

There is no absolute requirement for a letter, but it does help if you do a brief note to the ECO which details your circumstances and the history behind your relationship etc. Perhaps you can prepare such a letter and either e-mail it to the embassy, or fax it through.

ive already e-mailed them asking if they need to know any more to e-mail me back so i will leave it at that dont want to pester them do we :o

Normally I would have put everything I think they wanted to know in the covering letter which the applicant submitted together with her application (your sponsorship package). No need to write to the embassy directly in fact I thought they used to advise that you didn't.

Under normal circumstances, the letter addressed to the ECO should be included with the application. As Chadstar's wife's application has already been handed in, the only way he can now get such a letter to the embassy is to either e-mail it to them or fax it: it's either that or no letter at all.

Having said that, if his letter to his wife covers the salient points, there's no reason to do a further note.
