Question about bank

Featured Replies

XHi all.

I live in Bangkok for a year last year when I was working and I opened a bank account with krungthai. Now I am in chiang mai and lost my bank card. Was wondering if its as easy as walking into a krungthai bank and grabbing a new card? Granted I don't have a working permit anymore. And because I have moved provinces does it mean I have to open a new account through krungthai here or do they just do something on the computer easy like.

Please help me out.

Thanks in advance.

It may be easier just to open a new account. To get a new bank card on your old account will require a police report (at least in my case it did).

That was only possible at my branch a couple of years ago. A police report wasn't required.

And quite easy to get a police report, usually a simple report like this, no investigation of any type, just 20 - 30 minutes all done and no hassles at all.

You shouldn't have a problem. Bring your passport and bank book to any branch.  I doubt you'll need a police report, that's only for loss of bank book.
