Self Employment Visa Options...?

Help!! 

 

I want to bring my new GF to Australia for a "Visit only" using a visitor visa. At this stage she has no intention of living here as she has family and a business back in Thailand.

 

So i did the right thing and applied for a "Visitor Visa" as she is coming to visit not live etc. 

 

She has two businesses. One is online and one is selling food which is all done by cash (Hey its thailand) Even though I applied and said I am fully sponsoring her and she doesnt need money to come they refused her a visa saying that "how can she run a business while not there?"

 

Answer : He business is online so she can do anywhere and her sister was going to look after the other business which is quite easy as they work together.

 

They also said that they saw "no evidence" of a "relationship" so had doubts about me paying for her trip even though I sent them a bank statement which showed over $20K sitting in there.

 

Why would they be asking for relationship evidence if she is only coming to visit? 

 

What do they want to see?? 

 

Has anyone had this issue before? its her first trip out of Thailand and she has adult children and a son at University there so she isnt moving here.

 

I can quite easily go to Thailand anytime but I want to show her Australia and go on a Holiday with her.

I'm not familiar with the set up with Oz visas but I can't imagine that things are much different. You should have explained how her business would be run in her absence.

 

As you are sponsoring her surely you need to show evidence that you are a couple. Standard stuff with a UK visit visa. Flight bookings, hotel bookings of trips you have taken together etc.

You obviously didn't satisfy the IO of your relationship and a purpose of your g/f's intention to return to Thailand after the visit.

 

Genuine visitor documents

Provide as much proof as you can to show you are visiting Australia as a temporary visitor only. This could include:

• proof you have enough money for your stay and to leave Australia, such as personal bank statements, pay slips, audited accounts, tax records or credit card limit.
• a letter from your relative or friend in Australia, inviting you to visit. The letter could state:
  • their relationship to you
  • the purpose of your visit and length of stay
  • if you will be staying with them
    If this person will be paying for your stay, provide proof of their funds.
• your plans while in Australia

Proof that you have reasons to return home such as:

• a letter from your employer stating you plan to return to your job
• proof that you study at a school, college or university in your home country
• proof that you have immediate family members in your home country
• proof that you can return home
• proof that you own a house or other major assets in your home country

You and your g/f are complete strangers to an IO, they can only assess her application based on documentary evidence and facts stated in your Invitation letter and her Application letter.

They need to see proof she has a reason to return to Thailand, property ownership, employment commitments or registered business. My ex boss visited her Oz bf regular without problems as she had a registered company for over 10 years, selling makeup on FB and a noodle stall isnt quite the same thing. Showing proof of your relationship should be easy, emails, line/messenger etc, all easy to print out the past 6 or 12 months worth of messages.
