Death sentence for beach selfies

Featured Replies

The UK Daily Mail reported today Phuket International Airport deputy chief Wichit Kaeothaithiam last week said: "Taking photos at the nearby Mai Khao Beach will soon be illegal". He continued: "Under tough new rules beach goers who take photos on the beach risk being slapped with hefty fines or could be sentenced to death. The maximum penalty is the death sentence," he said.

So not just no smoking or drinking when you sunbathe, take a picture and face execution in Phuket.

This was a real story in the Thai media last month, but altered for April fool’s day.

In San Francisco's Chinatown, in days of yore, one of the shops that sold all sorts of souvenir junk sold hats like this

The place was run by a miserable old couple.  There were a bunch of signs around the store saying "DO NOT PUT ON HAT TO TAKE PICTURE!"  There were at least 3 such signs just on the shelf with the hats.  Of course, when walking by the place myself and smart-arsed friends would dare each other "hey!  put one of those hats on and I'll take your picture!"

Maybe this guy in Phuket is a relative.
