Hello all,

Im arriving back in LOS on the 15/09/07 at around 11.40am,however as me is confused at whether the swicth between the swap and DM will actually happen.

We have a domestic flight on Air Asia at 17.00 to Krabi now will that be from the swap or DM,my understanding of the current situation is that it will be from DM.AM i correct???

IF by chance that I have understood correctly and the domestic flight is from DM how we travel from the swap to DM?is that our expense or will there be transport to DM ie bus service provided.

Many thanks

you are travelling in SEPTEMBER 2007 ? and ask about that NOW ? 6 months before arrival ? GOSH..... 6 months in Thailand can be a lifetime.... so better come back later with that question, in August or so....

nothing is secure when it comes to DM at the moment..... it will be re-opened by end of March, but who knows, in case its not a commercial success, it may be closed down again within a few days as quickly as the re-opening was announced....

if u really need to get a transfer from Suwannaphum to DM, of course u have to pay urself....

or who do u think would be paying for your transfer if u have to shuttle between Stansted and Heathrow in London.....

Many thanks for the responses.

It is my friends parents who are travelling in sept, they have been LOS many times however with all the confusion at the swamp and DM we thought it best to ask the questions if anyone had any ideas.

I agree it is a little premeture but wise to have an idea should the situation arise.

The last thing they or anyone else should have to put up with is after a long flight arriving in BKK to discover your connecting flight has moved to another airport, yes it is LOS and anything does happen.

Is there as yet confirmation of whether DM will actually open and who will be operating there??

Many thanks,I'm sure others are pondering on this subject.

Will be clearer nearer to the cut of date of March 25.....

I work for the airlines based here in BKK. Air Asia will not go at this point. They want to go but only if they can bring their international service with them and at this point it ain't going to happen.

"Thailaban" is correct 6 months is a long time here in Thailand. One week and any thing can change...even a day. There has been so many flip-flops with this airport I won't beleive it till I see it!

it only makes sense if they open DM for international flights as well, and then operate it as a Budget terminal. they cant survive there without having AirAsia "on board", and AirAsia will be more then happy to move back to DM - as soon as it is open for international flights again.

they cannot operate the airport in an economically successfull way without AirAsia, thats nonsense.

Believe me, in 4-5 months from now, DM wil be either closed down again, or re-opened as international airport. "closed down again" is rather unlikey, as there would be a huge laughter anywhere in the world and the Thais would loose their face (again), which they can not afford and can not stand.... therefore, its to expect that DM see's its comeback as international airport in the near future... and only that makes sense....

I'll be flying to Phuket on Nok Air in early April, so I checked with them today re the switchover date. According to the Nok Air rep, it's confirmed for March 25 (only 2 weeks from today). But frankly, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that date changes. I'm hoping it won't, because I much prefer spending 80B for a taxi to DM, versus 500B + expwy tolls to Cobra Swamp.

Air Asia is NOT moving

NokAir IS moving all flights from 26 March

It is not ckear what they will do with flights on 25 March

All flights on 24 March will still be to/from Suvanabhumi
