Video: Tour bus driver sacked after admitting he was "sleepy, that's all!"

Scary footage posted to Facebook showed a tour bus driver falling asleep at the wheel as concerned passengers looked on. 

 

The driver was falling all over the place on the Nong Bualamphu to Khon Kaen purple line service. 

 

The person who video-ed asked to get off shortly after leaving the bus station in Nong Bualamphu in Thailand's north east. They were the first to leave the bus.

They had apparently asked the driver what was his problem and he replied:

 

"I'm sleepy...that's all"

 

They gave the footage to a friend to post online. 

 

Transport officials in Khon Kaen acted swiftly. Yupin Rojanasangworn said that the driver had been sacked and that the operator of the service was under investigation. 

 

Yupin said the incident happened in Noon Sang district of Nong Bualamphu on Tuesday at 10 am.

What's so special about that? I have seen similar many times now.

The real scary part is where his feel keep slipping out of his thongs! You can't control a heavy vehicle in thongs, but sadly so many do it :(

You can !  Here in Perth nearly every semi trailer driver wears thongs, and they drive on dirt roads too with a road train with up to 6 trailers.  But they are trained skilled drivers, not Thai.

they drive in thongs and have a semi?

 

 

Sad to say this is an average day on the roads, inexperienced drivers of public transport who have no conscience when it comes to providing a service.
