I see Collingwood out at $2.25 against the Lions in Round 1. Should be worth a punt, I'd have thought...

I've backed the Lions for that one.

Even better is Collingwood by 1-39 points @ $2.80....

FREMANTLE "hasn't lost hope" that luckless midfielder Anthony Morabito can play more AFL football as he continues to endure problems with his troublesome left knee.

Morabito has been absent from training in recent weeks and was only sighted briefly before the Dockers' main session began on Friday morning.

He had surgery in January on his thrice-reconstructed knee to relieve ongoing soreness that had lingered from an operation following a training injury last September.

Fremantle's football operations manager Chris Bond told The West Australian on Saturday that the club would remain patient with Morabito and give him all the time and support he needed.

"We haven't lost hope. We will keep working with him," Bond said

"Our main thing is for him to get some continuity in his training and his playing for Peel.

"The meniscus operation – there have been some hiccups with that along the way.

"There is not a timeline for him. We are not going to put that pressure on him and he doesn't have to put it on himself. He has just got to get to a stage where he can do the work and play.

"It was a significant enough injury on the meniscus for it to be an interrupted pre-season. It was always going to be an interrupted pre-season and there has been a bit of soreness and a bit of swelling from it and we are just making sure we are precautionary on that and that we allow it time to settle so he can train and play fully.

"He has shown great character and courage. Ross Lyon has been a fantastic support to him and will continue to be."

The 23-year-old was one of the feel-good stories of 2014. He returned to the Dockers' side in round 16 against Melbourne after three knee reconstructions had kept him out of football since an eye-catching debut season in 2010.

He played three consecutive matches, two as the substitute, before losing his place following Fremantle's round 18 loss to St Kilda.

Morabito signed a one-year deal with the Dockers for the 2015 season.

Not guilty!

I'd expect ASADA to lodge an appeal... This has massive repercussions...

Could we expect Essendon to make a compensation claim?

From the article:

"After deliberations that spilled over two days, the Bombers were hit with the biggest penalty in football history, seeing them kicked out of the finals, fined $2 million and stripped of key draft choices.

Hird was suspended for 12 months, Thompson fined $30,000 and Corcoran was banned for six months, with two of those suspended."

Swans premiership star Tadhg Kennelly predicts the Greater Western Sydney Giants to be on top of the ladder after a month of football.

“I think the Giants will surprise a lot of teams. They’ve got a great start to the season (and) I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Giants on top of the ladder after a couple of months of football,” Kennelly said.

“They’ve got St Kilda Round 1. They’ve got the Gold Coast, they’ve got Melbourne and then they’ve got West Coast. Those four (games) can see the Giants on top of the ladder.”

However, while the young and improving club will win more games this year, Kennelly doesn’t think they can sustain winning and will drop off toward the end of the season.

“As far as making the eight, I don’t think so. But if everything goes right for them injury wise they could make it,” he said.

Kennellys says the Suns will be a force to reckon with and will play their first finals campaign in September.

“The Gold Coast, I think, will make the eight easy,” Kennelly said. “Gary Ablett is obviously the big factor.

“(New coach) Rodney Eade knows his football. He’s got a real attacking style of football coach. They’ve got (former Swan) Nick Malceski who’s come to the club (and) their players have now played four quality seasons of AFL football.

“They’re going to break it (into the finals) easy. I think they are the two teams that are going to shoot right up the ladder.”

Kennelly also predicted Carlton and Collingwood will struggle with aging lists and injuries, with both their respective coaches Mick Malthouse and Nathan Buckley also coming under pressure to win games.

See the video player above to watch Tadhg Kennelly’s full chat with Will McCloy. Do you agree with Tadhg? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

This part below doesn't make sense at all. I think the reporter has stuffed up. whistling.gif

As reported in the 1st April 2015 "prosh" by Lun E. Tune

BREAKING NEWS.
Freakish Mutants to Fight Show Cause Notices.
29 horrifying monsters appeared outside the Supreme Court of Victoria today to fight charges of performance-enhancing drug use by ASADA. While it is unconfirmed as yet, it is believed they were once the human members of the AFL's Essendon Football Club.
A 500 kg half-man half-lizard with a prehensile tail and two tongues, believed to have once been captain Jobe Watson but now requesting to be known simply as "Clod" hissed their intentions in front of a shocked football media. "Previously, Essendon dynasties have been called "The Baby Bombers". Well, we are out to prove ourselves as the "Mean Team" . Journalists were unable to decipher this comment.
AFL CEO Gillon MacLachlan stated that the integrity unit would be looking into "some things" over the next week, though it's uncertain if those things include ruckman Thomas Bellchambers' newly-sprouted pterodactyl wings, which Collingwood President Eddie Maguire has complained may give him an unfair advantage at bounce downs.
Not all such mutations have been so beneficial though. In a related case, Fremantle Dockers tagger Ryan Crowley's bones and muscles have been disintegrating, progressively he is melting into an annoying, amorphous blob. Dockers serial pest, Hayden Ballantyne says he has been prescribed “Elephant Juice” because he is over dreaming of being a jockey and wants to grow taller.
The horde of terrifying creatures forcefully maintain that the mutations were in no way the result of experiments carried out by previous club medical staff in 2012.
The case is expected to reach an outcome at some point in the next five years.

Carnegie Joe seems to have fallen off the radar as well.

I've heard him and chooka are quite close. Perhaps chooka

can get hold of him. It's always good to hear from new members.

It must be a great show. I hear the police in WA have been to see "Ben Cousins on Ice" three times times in a month. When does it tour?

Tour of duty in Syria.

Tried to stow away in a blackhawk at the SAS base.

Just don't give him his passport back.

Brownlow chance for your team

Who would you pick from your team as a Brownlow chance this year?

My pick.

Sydney - Luke Parker

At St Kilda, no one is a chance. To poll the most votes for the club I would say Jack Steven followed by Membrey.

You'll be rubbing that in all season
