Joking???  I think not Freddie.  The complexity of our planet points to a deliberate Designer (God) who not only created our universe, but sustains it today.  There are some who believe we evolved from a single cell organism in some mud puddle billions of years ago.  Don't be blinded by Satan.  Go to YouTube and type in "DTBM OnlineVideo Training."  That goes for the rest of you feather merchants as well ????

A million species due for extinction, you call that sustaining?

Instead of talking out of your wazoo, you would be better off spending a little time viewing the videos in the above mentioned post. ????

Is Satin in the videos?  If not I prefer the wazoo talking.

So you are denying that we are losing species at a rapid rate, oceans are polluted, as is the atmosphere, ice caps melting etc, and yet you say that "god" is sustaining the planet. Methinks someone is in denial.

Not interested in propaganda or dogma. I suggest you watch some of Christopher Hitchens lectures on youtube. He demolishes all the god botherers.

What is interesting about Christopher Hitchens, is he passed away in 2010.  Unfortunately for his followers and Hitchens regarding Hitchens religious beliefs, he now knows the truth.  It is really too bad he can't share what he knows about Jesus Christ and God.  Once you take your last breath it is a done deal.

Dead is dead and even the living can't share what does not exist.

It is surprising how anyone can deny God exists when you see a baby.  The amount of information encrypted in one cell in the human body is equal to 1,000 books.  The total amount of information stored in your DNA is 40 times more than the largest set of encyclopaedias in the world.  Does this sound like something that evolved from nothing?  I think not my little feather merchants.

Nature is full of quantifiable miracles.  The earth is the perfect distance from the sun to support life.  If we were any farther away from the sun, we would freeze.  If we were even slightly closer to the sun, we would burn up.  Does this sounds like something that happened on its own?  Of course not, it's obvious God created this home for us.

Jesus is not an illusive fairy tale.  Jesus is the living, breathing, touchable Son of God.  You can believe there are no atheist in Hell.  Everyone there knows Jesus died for our sins, and God created the universe.  The unfortunate part, is these people rejected this gift of life to spend an eternity in Hell.  Don't be silly and make this same mistake.

While i regard the life and the words of Jesus as a wonderful spiritual teaching, i would take the Old Testament with a grain of salt ( one could blame the translation for the inconsistencies, but also some willing manipulation)

Let's say i give the Bible the same credit as the Greek mythology, or the Hindu and other mythologies.

All those miracles, and flying prophets and gods (or demigods), are they super-humans, or ET, or some lost technology ? Surely some could be metaphors, but maybe not.

Some will say those are "fairy tales", but i am not satisfied with that.

Jesus validated the Old Testament by saying it is the word of God.

That's an answer, but in this age i would expect some critical thinking.

Do you really believe that Jesus flew to the sky after resurrecting ?

I think not, i think he went to some better place.

If I were stuck on a deserted island and I could choose to have only 1 other person with me, I would rather choose an atheist than a religious fundamentalist, without a doubt.
And I'm far from being an atheist.

If Jesus hadn't risen from his death, Christianity would have died right then and there.  Everyone, when they die will knell before Jesus.  The Bible is very clear about what will happen after we die.  We all have a choice to believe or not to believe.

We have until we take our last breath to figure this out.  It only takes about 72 hours to read the Bible.  The website I provided will help you understand the Bible, at least it did for me.  Good luck with your critical thinking. ????

I am very skeptical, so i prefer trying to understand things by myself: while i appreciate your faith in the Bible, i prefer to put my faith in critical thinking.

As Jesus said, Saturday has been made for the man, not the man for Saturday.

I have many doubts, so if the religious fundamentalist was a nice, healthy woman, with fishing and survival skills, i would give her a chance :))

and you KNOW that for a fact, do you?

To know, you would have to have died and come back, and not dead for just for a few minutes.

LOL. Why do you think that god is a proactive one? Having created uncountable trillions of stars, and set planets around them, perhaps god is just letting whatever happens happen.

We, and every living thing on planet earth are just a bunch of electrons in formation. When we cease to live, the electrons are just re arranged. The dinosaurs became us after a few million years to allow the electrons to re arrange themselves. News flash, on a cosmic scale, planet earth and everything on it is less than insignificant. Religion is just a means by which humans think they are more important than they are, and that "God" cares about them.

Where most people go wrong, IMO is that they think if they pray to god s/he/it will actually come and help them. Almost every human ever lived asks god to help when they are facing imminent death, but when the Titanic sank, they all died anyway.

I am not in any way claiming that I know what god is, but I will not believe that something greater than us does not exist. We, humans, know nothing, even though some of us think we know everything.

Will not believe that something greater than us does not exist suggests that you do believe, so what you have is faith, because I'm sure that you can't offer one iota of proof that there is something greater than us.

That's where LSD was synthesized from if I'm not mistaken.
The story of Dr Albert Hoffmann, trying out his discovery for the first time while cycling in Switzerland is very funny.

Resurrection was quite popular at the time and 10s of decades later Christianity was likely to die out with dwindling numbers so another selling point was introduced so as to appeal to the masses, that of virgin birth.

Maybe it just my own interest but I'd recommend reading the Bible a number of times because otherwise you don't really understand history.

That someone can look at an amazing sunset, or the stars on a clear night and not have even an inkling of something greater than us is very sad, IMO.

This is where all religion stems from - when early man began to wonder about their surroundings, the rising and setting sun, the moon, planets and countless stars were all revolving around us and it made us feel special, that we are the centre of everything and all the universe was there just for us. Most of the celestial bodies were even named after Gods.

Little did they know that we are not the centre of everything, not even the centre of the solar system.

As Carl Sagan said "planet Earth is like a mote of dust in the morning sky"

Imagine if we evolved on a planet with a continuous blanket of cloud cover where only day and night was notable, no stars, moon or planets in the night sky, would religion be where it is today?
