I thought Christianity was beyond animism.

The head of St. Peter’s Basilica performed a special rite Saturday after a man stripped naked and hopped on the main altar with the words “Save children of Ukraina” written on his back.

Cardinal Mauro Gambetti performed the penitential rite following the desecration of the altar with other priests and members of the faithful.

sunmaster, you might like this ... he talks about psychedelics with movies as a reference ... and the connection between how the brain works ie the EGO

he theorizes the following: "over time, our ego can develop pathologies that trap us within ourselves, that keep us stuck in unproductive, harmful, or undesired patterns ..."

Sorry, I just have to get one more jab in.

The name of "The Godfather of AI" is Yoshua something.

Wasn't another name for Jesus Yeshua?

Odd, no?

dude, you have NO CLUE man.

a lot of stuff going on ... i actually may be relocating suddenly due to some sudden catastrophic occurrence.

which happened, incidentally, RIGHT SMACK DAB on the FULL MOON on Jan 3rd ...

coincidence? no ... the gods are at play once again ... pulling strings, manipulating my reality, jolting me out of my complacency ...

I know I haven't done justice to your posts ... I haven't read your posts carefully enough .. and I haven't responded enough ...

Like I said, I'm in the midst of a hurricane ... so I'll take a break and maybe check back in in a few months.

And I'll try to re-read your posts more carefully.

See-yaz.

yes, plausible theory.

god could be plotting to obliterate us all.

possibly waiting for specific planetary alignments.

Don't take this as a return to the fray, as it's not, but I've had quite a while to think about that very subject, and I have a a strong opinion on it.

As regular posters will know, I am of the opinion that God created the universe and then left it to get on with it, but to those that like to complain that God doesn't exist because "he" allows children to die of cancer, IMO if God had human emotions God might look at what mankind is doing to the wonderful planet we were given for a home, and how we as a species spend much of our time killing each other and exterminating other species and decide that it's time for another comet event so the planet can start over.

Perhaps the unbelievers should be grateful that either a/ God does not exist, or b/ God doesn't interfere in planetary affairs.

Or c) "God" exists and there is a reason for everything, regardless if we can see/understand it or not.

Even bad happens, it can be good, just not in our view or understanding.

We also kill living beings to create good for humanity, and we are part of Everything.

Really?

According to this reasoning, non-predatory animals would be extinct.

??? Why on earth would that happen? Evolution is random. Species produce more complex and less complex variants all the time. It's just that evolutionary pressures on predators seem (to me) to be more likely to favor intelligence in predators than in prey species.

I don't have time to watch it, but this popped in my feeds.

What science says about coincidences ...

Might be worth a watch as coincidences/synchronicity is a sign of higher forces pulling strings.

yeah, the Bible and fiction ...

although there are several reasons I am not a fan of the Bible ...

the Bible is largely mythology.

and modern society dismisses mythology as nonsense.

but actually, mythology is essential in order to understand the universe.

I would have added:

"For better or worse."

Seeing as how a lot of folks are willing to live with even the worst bankrupt ideas imaginable as long as they believe them to be true.

Ok, so mainstream media article asks ...

Does the moon exert influence over our behavior?

I didn't even read the article ... but what do you guys think?

Is the moon a sort of God?
