Phuket is seeking a new location for its Bus Terminal

PHUKET: -- The Phuket authority is seeking a new location to build a bus terminal, to replace the existing crowded one located in the heart of town. The provincial Chief Administration officer, Piya Pa-ra-ta-sil-la-pin, recently held a meeting with related officers and concluded some initial proposals.

The proposed locations include plots of land in Mai Khao, Sa-ku, Thepkastri, KohKaew and Rassada areas as choices. It requires around 7 rai of land. On March 11th, the provincial authority will announce for interested land owners to propose their plot sales to the Land Transport and Treasury offices before submitting them to the Land Transport Office in Bangkok.

The new site is expected to ease both congestion at the terminal and traffic in town.
