July: Khai Nok Island & Phang-nga Tours?

Featured Replies

Hello!

I am asking about tours/trips to the Khai Nok + Khai Nai islands in July?

I know the monsoon winds can make ocean very rocky/stormy...

And I have heard that the Similian islands on the west side are totally out of trip schedules in summer.

But are the Khai Nok + Khai Nai sheltered from the storms since they are on the east side of Phuket?

And same question for the Phang-Nga area+hongs... :o

Phang Nga Bay remains sheltered all year round.

Khai Nok Island is not so sheltered and there may well be big waves and strong currents that time of year.

Hey!

Do you know some nice islands near Phuket that are good to visit even in the summer?

Racha Yai? Or maybe the Coral island?

It really depends what you want. You can visit all the local islands but the ones to the west and south are affected by the monsoon winds & waves. There are beaches at Koh Racha and Phi Phi that are in sheltered bays and are usually okay to swim even during the rainy season.

If you actually want a calm sea then you have to go to Phuket's sheltered east side. Places like Phang Nga Bay, Koh Yao Noi, or Koh Naka.

I didn't fins much info about Koh Naka.

Do you know, is the waters around Koh Naka clear or more murky/blurry?

How about the Koh Rang islands?

They are also on the east side...

But do they have clear waters? :o

Koh Yao Noi and Phang Nga Bay get stormy in July - I've lived here years!!!!!
