Police have upgraded the charges against a man who attacked a Grab Car taxi driver in the Pakkred area of Bangkok last Friday.

Khampee Kleualinchee, 27, was attacked with a knife after receiving a call to take a man called Por from Prachacheun to Muang Thong Thai.

As previously reported on Thaivisa, the driver managed to convince the man to take him to hospital on the promise of later transferring 200,000 baht to him.

At the hospital he told relatives who secretly called the police after going along with the story that the attacker was a Good Samaritan friend.

Following some problems over jurisdiction - and an assault by the relatives on the attacker - he was taken into custody by Pakkred Police.

Pakkred station chief Pol Col Pongjak Preechakarunpong said that Por was initially charged with assault and  robbery.

This has now been upgraded to attempted murder.

TNA reported that the suspect is still undergoing psychological assessments in custody after claims that he is mentally unwell.

The story featured in a news bulletin and videos on their site.

Claim you were high on Yaba, Por...seems to work for others...although you didn't kill 2 people in a fireball, so you should be ok.
