Honda HRV CTBA Issues Anyone?

Featured Replies

Picked up a new Honda HRV today, brand new. Only drove about 3 km and had what I think it was the CTBA (City Brake Active System) activated. The breaks were automatically activated as I was trying to accelerate to do a U turn. The noise was like something had got stuck underneath the car. the dial said "System Activated" but with the panic I did not catch the symbol as I was trying not to get hit from behind.

A motorbike switches lanes in front of me before the U turn, so I think this may have trigger this? It seems a bit dangerous if the car comes to a complete stop by itself, there were cars behind but luckily the stopped on time.

Any ideas what this could be? I had just picked up the car from Honda and driving home 3 km away in heavy traffic.

Thanks

Try speaking to the Honda dealer you just bought it from. Guess they may know something ????

I think they know enough when they suggested deactivating it in heavy traffic. Like every time you drive here basically.

Think you need to read it again. No one has suggested deactivating it.

The best ones were the ones on the old Ford Popular run from the vacuum line.  The faster you went the slower the wipers wiped. So in torrential rain parked somewhere you could see fine,  move off and could'n't see hardly anything.

My 1959 Zephyr six had the same.....A really daft idea...????

Don't like it turn it off or adjust it to your liking I would of thought braking part in the 3 way system would be at it's best in heavy traffic.

"You can also configure Honda Sensing settings via the optional central touchscreen. Hit “Settings,” “Vehicle Settings,” and then “Drive Assist Setup.” This allows you to change RDM warnings, distance warnings for CMBS, and more.

If you need help modifying or turning off Honda Sensing, schedule a service appointment with one of our technicians!"
