Unfortunately karma is a myth for sheep and what goes around does not come around. We should send the French a bill for liberating them twice from the Germans in two wars.

Revisionist history is for sheep.

We are only doing what France and half the other E.U countrys do ,take no notice of what you are told to do by Brussels . its about time ,we have always followed every rule to the letter ,while others take no notice .

There is some truth in what you say:

The UK has always had the right to expel EU citizens who have not taken up gainful employment within a reasonable amount of time (across mainland Europe this is usually 3 months).

The UK has always had the right to expel convicted EU citizens once released from jail.

And the UK has always had the right to have whatever color passport pleases them.

We did not rescue them after all then, along with the Yanks?

We did not “rescue” them (France). Instead we fulfilled mutual treaty obligations that were cornerstones to International geopolitical policies when Germany invaded Belgium in WW1 and Poland in WW2.

Nothing then to do with the appallingly weak hand the UK has?!

Always somebody else’s fault.

Weak Hand? what "confused" world do you live in ? we contribute more than almost any other country to the EU, so that the likes of junket can live in splender ,so that those working in Brussels can shop tax free in their shopping malls , so that half the other country's that contribute nothing can live off us and so that a country that we have fought twice and beaten can lord it over us , i suggest you get back in your wonderful la la land and pull the door shut behind you .

and no i dont hate Germany ,i have a lot of German friend here in Pattaya .

Sounds like a Trump tactic when it's all over just don't pay!  Soon there wil be a Boris Johnson balloon in Brussels!

Maybe but the French are not exactly known for following the rules, playing fair or honoring their commitments - the 'do as we say not as we do" kings of the EU.

With the UK on the verge of crashing out, Merkel leaving office and her replacement not up to much, Macron's little ego will really think he's the new Napoleon. Heaven help the EU if he conspires to get his man Barnier appointed to replace Juncker.

How quick he forgets a few days ago! The French governments have always been all "huff and puff" and contrary.

Pretty sure that it was a union of largely European powers (and their dominions) that defeated the German aggressors during those wars, versus Britain, which, ironically, is currently seeking to withdraw from a union of European powers.

We did indeed respect our guarantees of protection to little Belgium; and out entente cordiale treaties with France. Both the Kaiser and Hitler thought we wouldn't.

Wonder how it would've worked out if the "free world" had had to rely on France to stand alone and run up massive debts that wouldn't be paid of for decades rather than capitulating and collaborating?

Who stood alone?

Hardly.  The FX markets don't like uncertainty.  Once the details of Brexit are finalised the value of the pound will rise - probably quite dramatically.

And as for the British economy, it will do much better in the medium to long term.  Britain is hampered within the EU by not being permitted to enter into trade deals with other countries.  The EU has been hopeless at arranging trade deals.  There is no EU deal in place with such major economies as America, China, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, India, Indonesia, Japan.  The British economy will be far better off once it's negotiated trade deals with these countries.

But most of us wont be alive in 20-30 years 3 gone already and we are precisely where ????
