The SSA just approved my claim for retirement benefits.  The first payment will be in July.  I reported my Thai address to SSA, but directed deposits to go to one of my US banks.  Does anyone know on which day of the month I should expect to see the deposit appear in my bank account?

 

Also, I now want to change the bank that receives the deposits.  Apparently, I have to get Manila on the line to do that?  I couldn't find any link on ssa.gov to change the receiving bank.

Depends on your birthday. I get mine on the second Wednesday. Each month.

If you are using a Thai address for the SSA you will get your payments on the 3rd or 4th of the month.

That is because you are using a US address for the SSA.
