A German man who was found dead in villa Krabi earlier this week may have died in a sex game gone wrong.

Christopher Faust, 39, who was reported missing by friends in Germany after he failed to turn up for work on May 16.

He was then the subject of a missing persons appeal by Hannover police on May 23 but had secretly flown to Thailand.

Mr Faust was found dead in a luxury villa in Ao Nang on Tuesday.

His head was covered by a plastic bag which had been bound by duct tape.

There were no signs of a struggle or theft, with cash and valuables such as a laptop computer, smartphone, credit cards and passport all in place.

Police initially believed Mr Faust had commited suicide.

However, the Daily Mirror reports that police are now working on theory Mr Faust died in what was described as a ‘sex game gone wrong’.

Police are also trying to trace a woman who was leaving Mr Faust’s villa on June 9.

"The initial theory was that Mr Christopher Faust had committed suicide, said Lieutenant Colonel Chavalit Petchsripia, Director of Ao Nang district Police Station.

"However, the investigation team is now tracking images from the CCTV in the hotel again. The body is also being sent to the forensic institute to prove the cause of death. Police are also coordinating with relatives and informing the embassy."

Lieutenant Colonel Petchsripia added: "There is a suspicion that the death could be related to an autoerotic game and it was an accident. There was sperm on the dead man's body.

"One witness also reported that they had seen a chubby woman leave the room on June. We need to check if that was involved."

This is not the first of this type of death this week. Is it a new fad? Or a new way for the police to fob off the press?

NOT the first time, NOT the last...just wait a week or so another farang will be killed on the road or in around a hotel...

The actor david carradine, also found a similar fate few years back in a hotel in BKK by stringing his parts and himself with a wire...

Carradine looked like a genuinely suspicious incident. Some experts said at the time, it would have been rather hard for someone to tie themselves up in such an elaborate manner. I believe he had help, and it was also deviance gone south! The partner no doubt fled like the wind.

With the situation described I would really like to know how one supports a murder theory?

Must be terrible for the relatives/family to read such details!

But death sometimes unveils secrets that would better be gone with the deceased.

He he could have been murdered by secret agents (aka the intelligence community)

‘.... staging deaths via auto-erotic asphyxiation was a favourite technique of secret agents. The reason — he argued — was that the deeply unedifying circumstances of such deaths make them unlikely to be properly investigated. After all, friends and family of the deceased are usually too embarrassed to want them to garner much attention.’
