I think the Burmese angle is kind of wore out by now, "obviously".

Good job the crime didn't happen in Pattaya, or it would be whore out by now.

In other words, the police were ordered to speed up finding scapegoats.

If it's anything like finding whores in Pattaya, they'll probably need the help of a blind man.

They could ask the FFP for cctv footage they found that the police could not.

Sounds interesting?

Don't ask, just take out the frogs too.

Well, somebody must love the junta a bunch - otherwise they wouldn't have voted them back in again.

If the beatings are junta inspired, will probably stop.  The junta already has enough problems.  They cannot afford street demonstrations.  They already look totally silly and weak.   But you never know, they are not known for doing the right or smart thing, just the expedient, self serving thing.

Those who voted the junta are possibly be those who downplay the brutal attack against Sirawith and post derogatory remarks like "injuries to activists are always followed by bank account numbers for money transfers" or "which activists should be next?". Then they are those who posted comments telling doctors not to be so quick to give Sirawith treatment, suggesting the activist could be kept in his suffering for humour sake". These sad and weak junta supporters were out in full force defending the military and the junta and theorizing that Sirawith plotted his own attack. Nothing but sardonic remarks from the typical brain-dead junta apologists.

The clarity of this assault has now been permanently muddied.

Yes, I see it now: it must have been a tragic love triangle situation.

Oh Prawit, thou art such a skillful obfuscater, I tip my hat to thee.

Sadly, street demonstrations will only show that the country cannot be governed by a (rigged) democracy where the EC decide who can be PM. This might need the army to step in and 'restore law and ordure (sic)' for another 5 years with Section 44 powers and immunity for all involved in the coup.

So Ole Fatty says junta not behind the attack on Ja New, does he really expect anybody to believe him?

He would be unable to tell the truth if his life depended on it.

Is'nt it a 19 party coalition?

The coalition is dominated by the military proxy party Phalang Pracharat. The brasshats also have the whip hand in the senate which last month - surprise! surprise! - ensured the current incumbent Prime Minister, Prayuth Chan-ocha, would retain the hot-seat.

The new Parliament is, of course, also stuck with the 20-year comprehensive national development plan mischevously pushed through by the generals before they relinquished office.

Having to share power will, hopefully, at least put a brake on the excessive authoritarianism displayed by the caretaker government after the  junta seized power in a coup.

He said the police were investigating the case and would bring the culprits to justice, adding it was unclear if the assault stemmed from a personal or political matter.

It's as clear as your lard arse that this was politically motivated!!!!

If they do use some scapegoats, it will be interesting to see the reasons they come up with.

If? You know they will.
