International School for American Year 11

Featured Replies

We are exploring school options as my daughter will join me here in Asia after years in the USA.   We are currently in Singapore but able to move to other locations - Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Hua Hin etc.  As she has just two years of high school left, continuation of the US curriculum is probably best.  She's a good student, but not inspired by the school environment in the large public high school she attends in the US.  She is one that digs into things she finds interesting but as with most teens, spends too much time in front of a screen.

Advice and ideas please.  Thanks.

International schools with an US curriculum are; Chiang Mai International School (CMIS), Nakornpayap (NIS), Grace and Unity Concord (UCIS). CMIS Is a Moderately Christian school that has a very good AP program. Campus life there will be most similar to an US school. It's hard to get in though. Grace is very religious serving mostly missionaries. NIS has a good reputation, nice campus and an AP program. UCIS is a new school that is recruiting and aggressively expanding. Their tuition is more affordable than the others. They have a higher percentage of Chinese students than the others. All the schools are WASC accredited except UCIS which is pending.

I am told that Cambridge College in Phitsanulok is very highly regarded and ranks as one of the best schools in Thailand.
