Dongtan drainage system to be model for future projects

PATTAYA:--Pattaya is looking to use Dongtan Beach’s recently completed water-drainage system as a model for future projects.

 

Major construction in the rehabilitation of Dongtan was completed at the end of last month, with separate pipes laid underground for sewage and storm runoff. Storm water flows directly into the sea while wastewater is sent to the sewage treatment plant.

 

Covering 1.3 kilometers between the Rabbit Resort and Yimyom Beach, the beach facelift also included a new footpath that lets tourists stroll and appreciate the scenery.

Now is that clear everyone .. Storm water stay to the left please and all you wastewater's keep right .. 

Thailand will get better one day .. 

It looks pretty but traffic will run over those grates and beat them down and it won't be long before you will see tree limbs with 7-11 bags tied on to them as a warning for where the grates used to be as there is now a missing or collapsed grate and a big deep and dangerous hole.

And the drains are filling up with sand and leaves and no budget to keep them clear. Figures,it's Thailand. 

Are you muppets missing something. It says there are two different pipes under the road. It does not say that rainwater from the road can get into the wastewater system. 

It is bad journalism yes but get with the program.

They allow traffic at certain times of the day...but its a road to nowhere anyway,unless you're driving a beach buggy or moto X bike
you can't actually reach the road at
"Yim Yom" beach....close but stopped by a concrete staircase last time I tried while they where doing theses "improvements"

The tropical storm "Mun" was quite weak when it reached Pattaya so not much of a test so far.
