Koh Pha-ngan Running Out Of Water

Featured Replies

I've heard from the mother-in-law that some water experts predict Koh Pha-Ngan will run out of water within five months, if no rain falls in the meantime. Has anyone seen these news?

I see trucks carting water towards the Haad Rin area on a daily basis. And our local well's water level is down to about three meters, from about one meter in December.

Are we due for a bad drought in Pha-Ngan/Tao/Samui this year?

We are in one Jose. Almost no rain in the rainy season. Hot and dry now.

My husband read in the Thai paper yesterday that we have enough water for the next 5 months as well (ie the idea being its enough till the next rains). I suppose it is enough, that is if they turn it off like they did 2 years ago. :o.
