Renewing 5 year driving license.

Featured Replies

Tomorrow I will renew my 5 year driver license at Minburi, Bangkok LTP office.    Is this all the documents required?

Passport and copy

Copy of visa

Letter from embassy verifying address

Old expiring license

Application + fee.

Can't help you but I'm in the same boat.  Though that list is exactly what I had last time at Mo Chit (6 years ago).  Specifically I'm wondering if the DLT will still accept the embassy letter for proof of address, and if the US embassy will still issue these letters?

Andy,

I just renewed my license yesterday at Minburi, Bangkok office.     In addition to the documents that I listed above you will also need a copy of your old license, front and back.  Cost B555.    And yes the US consulate is still issuing this letter.

Thanks for the update.  Can I ask, were you on a 1 year extension of stay, or a 90 day Non-O stamp?  I hoping it's still doable with the 90 day Non-O stamp, but other threads about this seem to indicate some offices want to see the 1 year extension stamp.

A 5 year requires a one year visa or extension of...Multi-O is OK..
