OK. Now that military rule is supposedly over, I have one more suggestion. Disband the army, entirely. They seem to serve no useful function for the nation, except for consuming vast amounts of oxygen, and cash. They are not wanted, they are not liked, they are not needed. Most despise them. Get out. Get out now!

Surely you are talking about the BIB and not the army. When was the last time the army forced you to pay tea money?

As we all know Military Rule had nothing to do with rescuing the boys and coach from the cave. I find this comment highly derogatory to all the people who risked their lives and lost a life during the rescue. It's all quite sickening. I don' know who disgusts me most him or Trump.

Sorry but it did by allowing foreign experts to take the lead, something that previous governments would never have allowed..to much face loss. The right decisions were made all the way down the line approved by Prayut  and a hero lost his life over it and here you are a sad keyboard warrior tearing all of that down

You should be ashamed of yourself ????

They are  models of very modern major generals (Gilbert and Sullivan)

When I have learnt what progress has been made in modern gunnery,

When I know more of tactics than a novice in a nunnery

NO, I am talking about the army. They have been the most destructive force for this nation, during the past century. They are leading the nation backwards, and are doing absolutely nothing for the people.

Can't wait to see him losing his temper in parliament .

He's absolutely clueless about all matters and has the attitude of a petulant child

That sounds like a description of President Trump...

"Thailand is now fully a democratic country with a constitutional monarchy, with a parliament whose members are elected," Prayuth said.

"All problems will be addressed normally based on a democratic system with no use of special powers," he said, referring to sweeping powers the military government wielded.

Sure!! Uh, huh! And all the rest is the gospel truth. Right!

Still sounds like the BIB to me. Sack the useless BIB and install the army a fantastic solution

it is time for a music break:

Thanks for posting. The Stones, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Cream, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, Jethro Tull, Traffic, and on and on. England, the greatest country on the planet for Rock and Roll, the competition is way out of sight. It reminds me that despite the sad army of little Englanders now holding sway there, I still love them.

I had to explain this song "Hua na maai muuan gan hua na tee leyow"

The people of Thailand now have the PM and democracy they allowed to happen.

I'm not sure allowed is accurate here. Thai people had no real choice in this "election". We all knew the result before it even began. It is however surprising and hopeful for the future that so many young Thais rose up and voted for Future Forward. Maybe in the next elections...

"military rule had brought success in many areas, from fixing the problem of illegal fishing and human trafficking, to the rescue of 12 boys and their soccer coach trapped in a flooded cave last year."

Is there no end to this man's arrogance?

"These were US air force rescue specialists, and cave divers from the UK, Belgium, Australia, Scandinavia, and many other countries. Some had volunteered, and some were called in by Thai authorities".  And I think that it was 2 British divers who found the boys and their coach I think the International rescue team whose help was enlisted. would tend to disagree that military rule was responsible - he'll be taking credit for the rain in Esan next - when it arrives, that is!

The expats only assisted in the rescue

Those pesky expats again, we had to give them something to do to get them out from under our feet.

What a load of codswallop!!! "Allowing"??? They ASKED foreign experts for their help, and it was due to this help that the rescue was achieved - absolutely nothing to do with the "military rule" - or Prayut for that matter - and sad as it was, the life that was lost was down to either accident or lack of expertise on the Thai side - is Prayut taking the credit for that?

Prayut did, however, turn up with his entourage wearing his funny little outfit for marale boosting purposes. Most probably getting in the way. It definately wasnt politically motivated!!!

He won the popular vote at the recent election. So the people have got the leadership and governance most wanted.

If you say so.

Now after Pattaya is a family friendly destination, no prostitutes can be seen, no crimes are committed, drug abuse and distribution has stopped, the traffic toll has dramatically decreased, Thailand is one of the best places to live at. Or not.

He alone took the kids out of the cave with his bare hands. A true hero you should trust.

The country appears to work just fine under military rule.

Now been through 3 & life has not changed at all.

Not sure if there is such a thing as true democracy ,,, the US certainly not,, the UK no way

OMG Thailand!  Stay right where you are guys, the USA is rushing to catch you.  The only thing I can say is that as an American thank God there is a government that is led by a more corrupt and stupid leader who says equally stupid things as our beloved racist jingoist Trump.
