1.       Choose a nice tropical country with a fatalist population

2.       Buy yourself up the ranks in the military

3.       Stage a coup d’etat

4.       Secure absolute power by conveniently modifying the constitution

5.       Silence even the slightest opposition by force (kill the best and buy the rest)

6.       Take control over the media, internet, and private phone conversations

7.       Promise the uneducated masses a “free & fair” election (under your  conditions)

8.       Organize PR tours and spread some crumbs among the peasants, and promise whatsoever

9.       Make sure your party wins the “election” by all means, and form a panel of handpicked senators to vote you in as the new PM

10.   Now change uniforms from olive to white, declare the country a “true democracy” and cash in…

Yes, but he forgot to add the teddies from the two crane machines in Panthip, Chiangmai which were in full swing last Friday.

So the leader of the "military government" has declared an end to the military government. But he'll continue to be the leader of the new government going forward. For as long as he wants. 

How do these inbred's pull it off with a straight face?

Article 44 is repealed, the army is back in their barracks, no more media suppression and open, public discourse is restored without fear of being taken away in the dark of night to an army camp for questioning. The future's so bright... I'm booking a ticket for this Saturday so I can return to this beautiful new, true democracy.

He has a strange definition of a "normal democracy", with one house being entirely appointed by the military government, and votes for the other house being gerrymandered to favour parties regarded as friendly to the military government.

Would be interested to know if there are still soldiers with the police , on the streets, in government offices or have they all returned to their military barracks .

Protesters are living under threat of murder, and are being forced to leave Thailand only to be killed in Laos or on the Thai Vietnamese border. Very democratic.

Good news is there will be no military coups for the next 5 years. Bad news, to long of a list to post.

That seems to be all old biscuit head has - and of course he played a huge role in the cave rescue. Meanwhile the most corrupt parts of Thai society - the police, customs, military and self anointed elite – have had a roaringly good and heavily protected few years as they stripped the nation's coffers.

With all that 'military influence' within this 'democratic government' I would suggest that the PM look up in dictionaries as to what 'military' is and isn't...'cos he obviously doesn't know.

There me was thinking, how can a general of the military, who by this rule of law, be entrusted as caretaker of the government until everything is restored, run for the Prime Ministership ?

 

I mean wasn't he supposed to hand over after the democratically held elections had taken place ?

 

Hmm, he must have changed the constitution and actually ran for the Prime Ministership and made sure that 250 senate seats would stay in place for his military mates for 20 years under that altered constitution.

 

The above said, me is only guessing because he is no longer the general as he resigned that position recently and is now the PM, nudge nudge wink wink, say no more ????

 

Hopefully the challenge can find the wording in the constitution that states that an active military member cannot run for the senate or the position of Prime Minister until he has resigned, and the reason for that is so he can then change the constitution again, saying that an active military member can run for the senate and Prime Minister, so that we don't have to go through another coupe.

 

Like I said, was just thinking.
