One man and 1,104,000 methamphetamine pills are in police hands following a sting operation in Muang Lampang on Saturday (July 13).

Pol Lt Gen Montri Sumboonnanont, commissioner of Provincial Police Region 5, presided at a press conference on Monday morning to describe how undercover officers arranged to purchase a much smaller quantity from Sarayuth Rattanadilok, 34.

They agreed to meet on the road connecting Hang Chat and Muang districts at 10pm on Saturday and Sarayuth allegedly arrived with 4,000 pills.

Following the arrest, Sarayuth then led police to a forest in the tambon of Phra Baht where another 1,100,000 pills were stashed.

Montri said Sarayuth claimed to be only a mule for a drug-trafficking gang that gave him delivery instructions by phone.

Drugs are the way to make a quick profit in Thailand.

Real work is hard to come by, so money men are cashing in on the endless supply of transport mules to ship the goods around!

I think the work is there, it's the good wages that are hard to come by..
