The most outstanding Thai athletes of 2018 will be named by the Sports Writers Association of Thailand (SWAT) on July 20, with the ceremony telecast last on Spring 26 from 2-5pm.

 

This year’s finalists, chosen by the selection committee led by SWAT president Somchai Poolsawas, are as follows.

 

Best male amateur athlete: Sawet Sethaporn (skeet and trap), Pornchai Khaokaew (takraw), Jai Angsuthasawit (cycling).

 

Best female amateur athlete: Suthiya Jewchalermmitr (skeet and trap), Atthaya Thitikul (golf), Paniphak Wongpattanakij (taekwondo).

 

Best professional athlete: Chanathip Songkrasin (football), Wanheng CPF (boxing), Ariya Juthanukul (golf).

 

Best junior male athlete: Kometh Sukprasert (cycling), Athichai Permsap (amateur boxing), Kulawuth Vititsan (badminton).

Best junior female athlete: Kenthida Saengsin (taekwondo), Supachanin Khamhaeng (weightlifting), Atthaya Thitikul (golf).

Best coach: Juan Fontaniel (amateur boxing), men’s 4x100m coaching team, Che Yong Sok (taekwondo).

 

Best sports association: Volleyball Association of Thailand, Cycling Association of Thailand, Taekwondo Association of Thailand.

 

Best team: men’s 4x100m team (2019 Asian champions), female national badminton team (2019 Uber Cup runners-up), female national volleyball team (2019 Asian Games silver medallist).

 

Several awards have already been decided. They are:

Best handicapped male athlete: Voravuth Saengampa (boccia)

Best handicapped female athlete: Kwansuda Puangkijja (taekwondo)

Ekachai Nopchinda award: Chakkrapong Rodsin (Uttaradit FC)
