Alternatively can they go to the grave with you .. And will it be recorded on the headstone .. And if you go down the frying tonight route will they survive the pyre and be left remaining in the ashes like sparkling diamond's ..

There was a case of an aging member from Hull who keeled over while watering his vegetables and when his other half opened his will, he had bequeathed his 5 dots to another member (who shall remain nameless) and just prior to handing over the dots, a black van arrived and the dots were duly collected and returned to Rimmer. No apologies, no explanation, they roughly pushed their way into the house, grabbed all 5 dots and even took the deceased member's hard drive on the way out.

 

The dots cannot be cashed in (7-11 won't accept them anymore) although there are rumours that having all 8 in your pocket pretty much guarantees a 12 month extension on your visa.

 

It is absolutely forbidden to cremate or bury dots, and in the event of a member's passing, the dots are to be returned from whence they came.

I was going to nominate (and also second) myself for the DOTY this year but with only four dots I'm afraid that I fall at the first hurdle on this one.

I think we need a mod to clarify the dots system ....... especially the lowest number allowed .... could there be a single dotter? They probably aren't allowed to post until their post count improves!!!!

I am preparing a list of questions for this year's POTY and will ask the powers that be (Rimmer) if we can ask all contestants to answer these questions at the start of the campaign ... thoughts?

Obviously I will not abuse the system by bumping up my post count in the 'word association' thread but it may just spur me on to post on a more regular basis.

Now that I know that the pecking order is controlled by dot count, I feel that there is something missing in my life.

 

With my mind now stuck in 'survival of the dottiest' mode, I need my next dot fix.

8 dots with parachute wings as well-the ultimate accolade..(sigh)

 

I keep getting de-dotted and being busted back to Lance-corporal (acting,unpaid)

Also, is there an annual dot index published and available online?

The only record of dot acquisition is with Rimmer and he guards it very well. Its a huge ledger book that he keeps under his bed

If you want my advice re bumping up your post count, make lots of witty one liner remarks like me ...

I will petition that we have a dot mod who is responsible for all dot queries .....
