Condo Pratumnak

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

I am a single guy, 27 years old, who will stay alone in Pattaya for a few months.

I have investigated a few condo's, but I am sure you guys know more about these condo's and probably you'll know other (and better) condo buildings.

My requirements:

(+/- 14.000)  rent

- Smart TV

- Sea view / City view

-High floor

- 1 Bedroom

- Pool in the building (prefer rooftop)

-Good private Internet ! This is important for me. Wired + Wifi

- Max 10/15 min from Walking Street

-Close to beach  (how is Lonely beach btw? )     /   Pier

Thanks guys!

I would say UNIXX or Axis, both on the baht bus route. I would avoid anything on Pratamnack Hill, like The Vision, as it's a PITA to get to/from.

  • As for Unixx and Airbnb there are signs all over the place telling that short term is illegal but of cource there are this activity also.. The guy who keeps minimart etc by the gate has legal Airbnb

I will have money on it you won't stay there a second month unless you like sitting on the sofa in a box in the sky and being able to touch the walls around you. You speak Chinese? You will be fluent

preferably walk ???? I prefer 5/10 min with public tansport/taxi, will sure have some nights in center.. so dont want to have a ride back home that takes forever when im drunk..

Google unixx. You can walk to walkingstreet within that timeframe + they have shuttle bus also + bahtbus route is walkable also..

Unixx has pratumnak address but actually not on the mountain.. Plenty of options there since 1000 ++ rooms..

2 pools also..

Yes, that ony is my favourite right now, what are your experiences in unixx? cons and pros?

I am thinking for now about The Vision or Unixx..

UNIXX to walk in minutes to Walking Street, 2 pools 1st floor and 6th floor, WiFi will depend on the particular apartment and owner...

Only con i can think is too tight security for my liking. There are floor spesific keycards to every floor and sometimes it irritates me when going to lift and everyone going are forced to "play" with their own cards to have approval to your floor + sometime there can be problems with keycards not working right away.  Also if order food etc whatever delivery you have to go downstairs always..

Other than that, for me location, facililities etc are perfect for my needs since pratumak, jomtien and south pattaya are the places where i spend most of my Pattaya time. When i want walking street/drink etc evening i usually take last shuttle (free) bus and slowly start my very long walk back to my pattaya home.????

Try airbnb. You'll get too many condos to choose from. condos in City garden are in general, less than 14K....

As for Unixx and Airbnb there are signs all over the place telling that short term is illegal but of cource there are this activity also..
The guy who keeps minimart etc by the gate has legal Airbnb listings (min 1 month ). Do not remember his handle though.????

Ur a legend! And what about the Internet? Was it OK in Unixx? I really need good internet

Internet is good but all this depends on owner..

http://planet-fiber.com/?lang=en  is the provider used  by many who want fast connection at Unixx..

There are some sort of free wifi at lobbyarea also.. No idea how fast that is..

You can always organise your own Internet.  The best way to get condo is visiting supermarkets and shopping malls. Try food mart near threppasit where condos are offered by owners 8k upwards. You have to be here to do that. You can get a cheap hotel around Pratumnak for 8 k a month.

Any good rental host will have Wifi available in the room, as Wifi can be paid on a month by month basis to the provider.

8k per month for a nice condo in unixx? that sounds too good to be true ! The normal price is 14/15/16 right ? I will definitely take a look !!!

I dont think you will get that price in that building for a short term rental. Other buildings, yes.

The poster didn't say 8k per month for a nice condo at Unixx.  He said 8k for a cheap hotel around Pratumnak.

"Nice" is very subjective. For that price "Nice and small" would probably describe it.

I would suggest that Unixx is the best location to cover the OP's needs. Stumbling around drunk without an escort is a really stupid idea, even in Pattaya.

Do you recommend other condo's?

There are soo many condo's to choose from right now. I just want the following things

-Seaview/Cityview

-Balcony

-Rooftop pool

-On the baht bus / good transportation to Walking Str/Central.

-Close to the pier (if possible, or have a great rooftop)

- Wifi/Wired

-1 bedroom

-Smart TV

-Gym

-Desk (if possible)

My budget is max 15.000, it shouldnt be that hard right?? I am really going to live my dream, I struggled 4 years to come here all by  myself, I just dont want to be ripped off / have shocks. It is the 4th time Thailand for me, but in the end I have to choose my own condo and room..

Unixx is probably your best bet if you want to be close to Walking Street and the pier.  It checks off most of your wants except rooftop pool.  It does have 2 sky gardens and two regular pools and air-conditioned gym. The one bedrooms facing north have beautiful views of the pier the ocean, the shoreline, and the Pattaya city skyline.

If you don't need to be that close to WS and the pier, Centric Sea might be a consideration. 2 skypools with great views, 1 other ground level pool, 3 gyms and sort of midway between Central Festival and Terminal 21 on Pattaya Second Road.

Thank you for your answer.

One annoying question more: What if the rooftop pool is really important? And it should be close to WS? Centric Sea looks awesome but a condo like that in Pratumnak would be way better..
I see the Vision right now.. how is that one ? I dont like Central Pattaya to be honoust.. will only be there at night but in the daytime i like the laidback vibe more..

As far as i know at the moment there is small downside with unixx and bahtbus.
Bahtbus which came from jomtien to Pattaya used to make loop at corner from near unixx to Pattaya. Cant remember the road names.. but anyway there is some sort of roadwork from that corner to Patttaya so what i have heard bahtbusses from jomtien use some another route. Not know exactly what since i am not there now but it has to mean more walking if living Unixx and wanted to use baht bus to Central.

Pratumnak is badly served by song thaews. By the time they pass Jomtien busstation they are completely full. I think the area near the beach there is great, lovely condos, but unfortunately, no baht bus at all, otherwise I’d move there ! I didn’t know Unixx had a shuttle, good idea.

Yes that is true baht busses being full many times so when living Unixx i very rarely used that..

Scooter, mototaxi, Unixx shuttle, walking and Grab were my favorite means of transportation.

If I can clarify one thing. Your post from today says 'there are soo many condos to choose from right now'.  Yes, there are--if you have no wants or needs.  However, once you start listing wants and needs, the choices narrow.

Rooftop pool eliminates all the condos with no rooftop pools.  Seaview/city view scratches off still more.  As does having a gym, on the baht bus line, close to the pier and Walking Street, and so on.

So, I'm busy scratching off all the projects that don't meet your list of wants and needs and I am left with precious few, rather than sooo many.  Well, to be honest, I can't think of any as Unixx doesn't have a rooftop pool and I don't think the baht buses go past The Vision--although I could be wrong.  Anybody know of condo projects I've overlooked?  I don't think I could recommend The Base.

Speaking of The Vision, I don't know that much about it so I will leave it to any others who might know it better.  Besides Unixx, it is one of the highrises closest to the pier and Walking Street.  There are a number of nice projects in Cosy Beach--some with sky pools--but not on the baht bus line.

I think your best bet is to pick the area you really want to be at and then decide on what you want and need most--realizing that there might not be a condo project that checks all your boxes.

Unixx does have its own shuttle bus, though.

I mentioned the prices of condos advertised at Foodmart. I did not say they were at Unixx.

Please clarify the meaning of the second sentence.
