Popular Post Rimmer
Pattaya hotel’s parking barriers removed Police brought down the hammer on a South Pattaya hotel after it blocked off part of a public road to prohibit parking. Mayoral advisor Nikom Sangkawe led city regulatory officers to the Boutique Bravo on Soi 17 behind Chaimongkol Temple July 24. As is the case all over Pattaya, the private business put up barriers in front of its property to prohibit parked cars from blocking the entrance. Police reminded the hoteliers that the road is public property and their steel gates were illegal. The hotel removed them, marking at least a temporary victory for neighbors who complained to city hall about the encroachment. -- PATTAYA MAIL 2019-07-26— 2

Ditto the hotel next to Jomtien Immigration. They have an enforcer. I explained the road was public & parked. When I came back he had moved my bike across the road. I have had a nail in a piece of wood placed under my car tire for parking in the wrong place. 2 1

I usually find a spot for the bike and use the carpark if in the truck. Not worth getting a spiked tyre.

johng
I drove past this morning and now there are traffic cones and what looked like maybe a chair for a "shooing away employee" to prevent parking...which was successful the area where the barriers where was completely devoid of parked vehicles.

Cake Monster
It is common all over Pattaya City, that if you rent or buy a Shophouse, and have a business in place there, you have the right to place Chairs, Tables and any other stuff in the Soi to prevent people Parking. WRONG ! The Shophouse tenants only own the Shophouse, not the Street outside of it, and certainly not the sidewalk, where Restaurants place there Diners for food. Motorbike shops fix the things, and an old lady sells Somtam. When their own business is closed, they even have the cheek to charge rent to others for a night time food selling stand Etc.

Wullie Mercer
And what about the motorbike hiring louts that take up half the street? This will continue so long as the brown packages are on time each month.
